Are you going to try to get Nvidia G-Sync certification for this monitor? Nvidia recently announced that certain freesync monitors will be certified for G-Sync use.
jocastaMy twi monitor are viotek 32 in 1080p, with that i play games liel CSGo,rocket league, atbd othe games. Many. Fps ranging from 50 to 142 (cap for freesync reason). No issuea at all. Amd gpu by the way. Than I upgrade to the chgh70 32in 1440p. Works even better because it has LFC, freesync 2, and HDR. None of the issues. One was low end Monitor and the other a good Monitor. Nvidia is reported to have some issue with some monitors as well. Amd had the same issue with some monitors and they had to patch it with drivers. Also...check monitor drivers as well.
It looks fine, it's definetely not "too good to be true," but the MSI AG32CQ with very similar specs, only 144hz but a 1 ms response time (and the 2ms gtg is gonna matter more than the 0.8 ms difference between 144hz and the 165), from a brand name, is on amazon for $389 rn. I'd definitely spend the extra $90 for better specs and a reputable brand.
I'm not sure why you tagged me (for blurbusters post), but it seems like you're mixing up display latency/input lag with response time, going by the article.
edit: oop, didn't see your follow up post.
at least with 32" 1440p, you'd still get the extra workspace because of the increased resolution
Hey, spec sheet says it has a max support of 165, but only up to 144hz is supported over the connections? Whats up with that? Do you have to overclock this or something?
Also, is the expected ship date accurate, or will monitors likely ship out when the drop ends? Some are like that so I thought i'd ask.
SunshineCrazyHello, the issue with G-Sync is the nVidia. They control the chipset and source code, only release them to the tier one monitor brand. If nVidia open the chipset and source code like AMD FreeSync to the market, I am sure the price will be competitive as well.
This deal looks to good to be true, if anyone has used this before, does it feel cheap?
@Principle Matter do you have a website? or somewhere i check check reviews on this minitor? thanks
On massdrop returns are generally only allowed for damage or defects. My question is if this ends up having huge gamma or hue errors, would that be considered a returnable defect?
The Samsung cjg5 is the same price on amazon and has all of the same specs, but is not from some random unknown Chinese company. Also could you list some usefull specs like brightness or contrast ratios instead of operating temps.
I don't think the headphones port is working. I have my Nintendo Switch plugged into the monitor using HDMI, made sure the mute is off and turned the volume to 100 and got nothing but a buzz. I did this on my older BenQ monitor and it worked fine.
PrincipleMatterI did indeed. The firmware update was reasonably straightforward and it worked like a charm! Now audio works flawlessly through HDMI and DP. Thank you.
Yuk! that hurts! of course you can get replacement.
Please email this pictures and your Massdrop transaction receipt to theprinciplematter@gmail.com, with your contact information and address. We'll ship you a replacement. We apologize for the unhappy carrier service.
I've been following this monitor for some time now and I've been wondering 1) Is the color reproduction an issue with this monitor as in it doesn't match that of a more well known panel such as Dell or Samsung and is closer to like a Viotek. 2) I've read that display port must be used in order to achieve the 165hz 1440p, if that is the case, will a HDMI to display port adapter achieve this when using a laptop as the output source?
thatsamdudeBy the time we shipped out the monitor to US, we tweaked it to the 1ms performance. However, prior we confirmed the 1ms (OD) spec, when we submitted the spec to Massdrop for drops, it has to be safe and preliminary. We apologize for the confusion.
