I'm pleased to have Gobi Gear back on Massdrop. We had several drops for their Hoboroll over the last year and were eagerly awaiting their SegSac, essentially a lighter weight version with some models having compression straps. We were recently notified that they are short on the 15L SegSac and 20L SegSac Compress. These two models will sell out today and we'll work closely with the great people at Gobi Gear to ensure we can have tons of SegSacs available for our next drop.

DannyMilksReally? Cool. Maybe 2 compartments (not necessarily equal in size) on a 7-8L bag and three compartments on a 10L? I don't know. I hadn't given it that much thought. Hmmmm, If I had a 10L bag with two compartments, I could have my clean clothes in one side and move them to the other side when dirty. I kinda like that idea. Oooo, and maybe make one side lighter in color than the other so I can tell which is the clean stuff and which is the dirty stuff? I don't know. It just seemed like 15L was really big and 20L was REALLY BIG. I wouldn't be interested in compression sacs as I prefer my stuff sacks to be able to mold to the space into which they're being packed...less wasted airspace...and my clothes bag right now is only about a 5L bag, so... OOooo, I know my food bag is always organizationally challenged, so maybe that 15L size could have three compartments of differing sizes...one for main meals, one for drinks and/or snacks, one for condiments and utensils...I don't know, just spitballin'. I really appreciate your asking, though. The more I'm thinking about it, the more I'm thinking (since most backpackers carry more clothes than I do), maybe a 15L with two compartments for clothes and/or three compartments for food...ya, that's it, 15L bags, one with two compartments and one with three.

I think three compartments in a 10L and two compartments in a 8L would be great.

It's been almost a year since we've had Gobi Gear on Massdrop and we're excited to have them back. And, I just noticed that they launched an indiegogo campaign for a new packable backpack. Looks pretty sweet. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-perfect-adventure-ready-backpack-free-spirit-travel-adventure#/
Wow 15L already sold out. Did massdrop and gobi gear learn nothing from the first time it was dropped?

Another_Overpriced_DropSorry... we have trouble keeping that one in stock, it sells quickly. The lead-time on Cordura fabric is lengthy. The 20L is actually my favorite for travel, however, as I can fit a pair of shoes in it.

octavecatHey guys - we sold out. This was pretty much a pre-launch product release. The next drop should have more.

ChezGobiGearIs there some app downloadable from Gobi Gear which decodes "Larkspur" and "Solstice" into the names of actual colors??
I have to wonder, though, about the quality of any product and the reliability of service from a company which apparently lacks anyone in its employ of sufficient clear-headedness to grasp the FIRST principle of marketing, advertising, and selling a consumer product -- MAKE IT AS FAST & SIMPLE AS POSSIBLE FOR A PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMER TO EVALUATE AND BUY YOUR PRODUCT.
This is NOT a casual snarky remark. Besides being a semi-retired industrial & graphic designer... I established from the ground up and ran the advertising division for a major American corporation doing business internationally before retiring from that sort of thing.
I might also say that this sort of egregious absence of even basic business acumen is dispiritingly ubiquitous in America today. It wasn't always this way.
"Cute" just doesn't cut it. You just got top shelf professional advice without the consulting fee.

I have what I think is the 15L, based on dimensions. Got it in a Cairn box when I was a sub. Looks a bit different so I'm pretty sure it's an earlier version but still with the 4 compartments. It works great for camping or backpacking. I prefer to use packing cubes for any other type of travel. Not much to say, it's a stuff sack that works great for separating items. I'd say the 15L is plenty big enough for me to put in enough clothes for a backpacking trip (1xLS shirt, 1xlong johns, 2xunderwear, 2xsocks, 2xshorts, 1xpullover) with room to spare.

abelaWhoa!!! 15L gone (a little on the large side, but I was going to order one anyway) and the 20L definitely WAY too big at half the size of my entire pack. I'm liking the idea. Woulda liked to have tried one out, but I'm too cheap to order one from their website.
