This hat is the firs item I bought on MD, and been worth every cent.
I use it for activities such as hiking, running, playing soccer etc. It's keeps my head nice and warm and doesn't allow wind to penetrate. My head is rather on the small side, and the hat hugs it quite closely, so take this into consideration if your head is more on the trollish side...
I sweat fairly a lot in the head, and the hat absorbs it, but wicks it quickly so my head doesn't get clammy. And to my surprise, what everything said about merino wool is true: there's hardly any odor left, and it's good as new to use again. The hat has two layers, and after taking it off, I turn it outside out, and it really dries quite nicecly.
Very good product for a relatively low price.

Feels better than the fleece hat but is definitely a skull hugger. I'd like it more if it were a tad bigger. Still full marks as it is about as big as I expected; hard to find hats like this that are just that little bit bigger.

This is an adequate hat for cool to freezing temperatures; when it gets into the twenties I find I need to add a head band to keep the frigid air from penetrating, such as when I'm x-country skiing. One nice feature is that it is low-bulk enough to fit under my bike helmet for those cold commute days, and has better wind resistance than thin fleece.

Fits nice and snug on the head, and very well under a climbing helmet. Not bulky so you can stash it in your pocket when you don't need to wear it. Color is vibrant and of course the merino feels good, no itch.
