Fine-Grained, High-Speed Damascus

Made in Seki City, Japan, these Kagayaki damascus kitchen knives are constructed from a traditional hammer forging process. Heat treated to a Rockwell hardness of 63, the blade is made from nickel damascus with an R-2 core, giving the knives excellent cutting performance. R-2 is a fine-grained, high-speed powdered steel known for its edge retention and rust resistance—a devastating combination for kitchen tasks. The handle, made from black pakka wood, is smooth to the touch but provides a secure grip for stability next to a steamy grill or a wet sink station.

Note: This drop is limited to 43 units. At checkout, select a 6-in Petty, 6.9-in Santoku (+ $100), or 8.2-in Gyuto (+ $100). Due the sensitive nature of shipping knives internationally, we are able to ship only some of the knives on Massdrop to select countries. It is the responsibility of the buyer to know and comply with all importation regulations and local laws. Click here for additional information.

3 Knives, 3 Different Jobs

The Petty knife is good for trimming smaller cuts of meat and vegetables. With a slim 6-inch blade and tapered point, it can handle detailed cuts, too. The Santoku features a deep-bellied 6.9-inch blade with a long curve for chopping. The blade’s shape makes chopping large quantities of food quick and easy, and its wide handle helps to maintain a steady grip. The Gyuto, with its 8.2-inch blade, is the largest in the collection. It’s designed for heavy-duty kitchen tasks like chopping large cuts of meat and ripping through thick-skinned fruits and veggies.
