Great Knife for the price! I wanted to try an Emerson carry for a long while. It was a great entry point for a great edc!
I would also like to note.. as per usual the shipping was garbage. Package arrived and both boxes were completely destroyed and the product was just bouncing around the shipping box.
This knife is great. This is my daily carry and it does everything. Deploys very quickly and can cut whatever you want. I cut cables, boxes, tape, food, you name it.
It was worth the price and would recommend it to anyone who needs a knife for utility and defense.
Simple yet unique, high quality manual folding pocket knife by two of the industries best
Overall I'm a big fan of Kai, the parent company of Kershaw & Zero Tolerance. The CQC-6K is a beautiful collaboration between Kershaw & Emerson to do a simple yet very functional and high quality steel manual folder. The framelock is sturdy and doesn't leave any room to make the wielder nervous like some manual framelock folders that have cheap steel for the frame and/or linear. The look and style of the knife is pretty unique in that one side is the bare, yet still visually pleasing, steel of the frame and the other is a G-10 scale that feels good against the fingertips and in the palm. Definitely in my EDC rotation although I generally prefer assisted open knives like the Kershaw/ZT Speedsafe or the Benchmade assisted opens like the Barrage. Overall I like the knife but would have preferred an American steel over the Chinese choice, but the stainless quality is good overall (same steel used in many Spyderco & Kizer knives made in China).
I like this better than many of my ZT's. No the steel isn't as good but it's very well balanced, has good ergonomics and a surprisingly good action. The pocket opener is fun to play with but don't try it while wearing sweatpants...trust me. One of the best budget knives out there and if you've always wondered what an Emerson is all about, it doesn't cost much to find out.
Good quality for the price, softer steel loses edge quicker BUT is also easier to sharpen quicker. Inexpensive enough that when I lose it I won't be out of pocket much. Wish I'd purchased a bunch for Christmas presents.
