bigmikebostonAnd now we're two weeks past.... I contacted customer support a couple of days ago but haven't gotten a reply yet. I also got cancelled last time. Hoping we're not being set up for another round of disappointment.

Is the G20L available? The description states that it is $10 more but it won't show up when I try to join the drop.
I think they separated the drops. The G20L just dropped a while back on its own. https://www.massdrop.com/buy/klarus-g20l-3-000-lumen-dual-switch-flashlight/talk#discussions

I've owned a G20 for a year or maybe a little more. Up until just a few weeks ago, I used it every single night to walk my dogs and just enjoy my property before hittin' the rack. I still use it often for the same thing, but I acquired a quality headlamp that lets me be hands-free, and use that most often nowadays. The build quality on the G20 has remained superior. The UI is different than what I was used to when I got it, but I eventually figured it out and am comfortable with it at this point. The switches have held up fine, still working at 100%. When I was using it all the time, the battery only needed to be charged every couple of months. I run it on Med-High and High most of the time, usually for 15 to 20 minutes. The availability of the Turbo setting depletes a lot sooner than that, but I rarely use it at all anyway, and even when I do, it's only for a short duration to see the 100 yards or so at the bottom of my driveway when I hear something moving around under a lean-to down there. Usually a racoon or armadillo, which I kill the light and let them have their fun down there.
The only thing I find a little questionable about Klarus' description of this light as a "search light" is that, yeah, the Turbo mode is certainly bright enough to qualify it as such, but if you're really searching for someone or something in terrains where you'd need that much power, the battery will deplete to where Turbo isn't available after 30 to 45 (tops) minutes, so you better find what you're searching for pretty quick. That said, I didn't buy it for a search light per se, and I doubt the "average" buyer will either. It's one of the best lights of any power rating I own in any case, and I own many custom and name-brand lights. Without knowing how much shipping would be, I'd say it's being offered here for a great price. My most often-used source for flashlights is selling the G20 (no "L") for $98.95 with free shipping, so unless shipping on this is in the $20 buck range (which I certainly hope it ain't), this is a very good price.

My G20 arrived Saturday, so I'm testing the lives on the batteries now. Do you have issues with temperature? The light has been sitting on my desk on turbo for a while and my thermometer reads the bulb at 110° F/43° C and the case at 100° F/38 °C.

ZenonHi Zenon, Like I said in my in my first post, I rarely even turn on Turbo mode, and when I do, it's always been just for a few seconds aimed down towards the bottom of a ~50 - 75 yard driveway. I have never tried measuring heat with any of my flashlights, but going simply by touch and feel, I'm confident in saying the case has never gotten much, if any, hotter than body temperature. It wouldn't surprise me at all to find out that it's never gotten that hot even, but I don't have any temperature measuring devices so I can't say for sure.
Also in my first post I said that the Klarus had been mostly replaced by a headlamp. Well, in the five weeks hence since making that post, the bugs are out in full force and the headlamp draws them right to my face, so I'm back to using the Klarus every night until mid to late Fall I reckon. So I guess I can count on using it regularly (every single night except if me and the dogs go out of town, which hardly ever happens) for around six months out of every year. I estimate I had about one full year of use on it before I got the headlamp, so by mid-Fall, I'll have around 16 months of use. My review was meant only to say that my light seemed to hold up well to regular usage. I didn't include any real technical data because I haven't collected any. I do find what you've collected to be interesting though, so thanks for that. Hope you're as happy with your purchase as I am with mine.

HEY DROP? Is anybody home? I know y'all working from home and you hear us at the door. Just write us a sentance, maybe two, with an update two weeks past expected shipping date. I need this flashlight, I mean, what if zombies, it's still 2020 out there!? We know how this goes, we signed up for the drop method, just a little transparency please, you've taken our money, now do the bare minimum and say "Shipping from China is delayed.", or "Alan in shipping, the big goof, hit a rack of live and rare arabian palamino hamsters going out to another drop with a forklift and it's been hamster pandemonium at the distribution hub.", Or "Fedex has been swamped with the giant shipments of remcyclovir that are being moved to washington to treat the whitehouse and it's staff and your packages got bumped.". See, I did it in less than 2 minutes. Now you try. (No hamsters were harmed in the writing of this post).

GedvondurConfirmed. Me too. Does this happen often with Drop? I was really looking forward to it, but waiting for a couple months then having it cancelled... not a real great "introduction". ;-)

DougFLA123I'm fairly new to Drop. Does that mean we're in "limbo" until March 7th-ish before we might be informed they are shipping more than 30days late? Is an updated EST ship date notification SOP or it's just a waiting game?

YaromeYes, I believe everything you said is 100% accurate. We are in limbo, and it sounds like Drop has no idea when and if they’ll be shipping out these flashlights. This is my first purchase that isn’t a knife. I hope they keep us informed, but it really is just a waiting game.

So we're almost a week past the estimated ship date with no shipping confirmation. Are we actually going to get the light this time or will this be cancelled again? Fingers crossed...

What is the difference between the G20 and the G20L? The reflector looks different. Is there a different beam pattern? Anything else?

bpchristensenMassdrop just ran the G20L (expired yesterday I think), but you can compare the two by looking at the expired drop here: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/klarus-g20l-3-000-lumen-dual-switch-flashlight

bpchristensenThe settings and power are the same. But the beam shape is different due to the heads. Also the G20 is about 1" shorter since it doesn't have the wide reflector cone. I went for this one since I wanted something with as much power but more compact shape.
