Product Description
Designed for backpackers looking to pare down their load, the Klymit Insulated V Ultralite sleeping pad boasts an impressive warmth-to-weight ratio. It features a body-mapped V shape and dynamic side rails that reduce air movement and hug your body as you sleep Read More
It packs up small, it's easy to blow up, and kept my back warm. I've spent a few nights on it; a few at home to test and I used it on a small section of the PCT. On the trail it performed great paired with my EE Revelation Quilt. Per all blow up mattresses, I'm a little worried about leakage but so far no problems.
Tip: I found it effective to fold it in half and roll it up once to get most the air out and then proceed to fold it into fourths to pack it up.
Note: The one I received has a different valve set up than the pictures. It has a flip valve that is for both inflating and deflating. It feels like it shifts before putting the cap back on sometimes, but seems to seal when the cap snaps in.
This seems like a well constructed pad. The material must be thicker than advertised because the weight on my long pad (with stuff sack) came in at 25.8 oz vs the listed 19 oz. Nearly 7 oz. heavier! It also took about 14 breathes to blow up. Testing on the floor in the house showed it to be comfortable. Look forward to trying in on the trail and seeing how warm it is in cold conditions.
Great product. Kept me warm despite sleeping on cold rock. I was able to sleep quite comfortably on my side and back and managed to keep my arms warm and off the ground without too much thought when lying on my back. Seems durable enough despite being super thin. I'm about average height with an athletic build but if I was any wider at the chest I would probably want the wider pad. However for my size it suits me quite well.
Okay first of all I would like to say I have been using klymit pads for years now I loved it. But they are not Lite in weight. So when I saw this I was excited because I am starting to do some backpacking, because I was able to get a large I figured it would be a better pad for me. I did not read description well and was very surprised to see that the large was no wider than the regular after I had ordered. But I figured that 19 ounces for a large I was in I would deal with it. My large had arrived yesterday weighing 24 oz instead of 19 Oz as stated on the website. Also it was not 20 inches wide but 26. I was grateful for the extra 6 in I was not grateful for the extra 6 oz! Massdrop needs to get their act together and put in correct information when we are buying stuff sight unseen!
The valve was a cheap push/pull type valve rather then the twist lock shown. The weight on the 'regular' sized item received WITHOUT the stuff sack was 19oz not the 15.20 advertised. Returned for refund.
I took it out on the trail last night. Had to wake up several times in the night to refill the air. Also I did not get the product shown on the product description.
- light given the size and the insulation (r4.4)
- long (I'm 1.85m, this is long enough)
- very isolating and comfortable, even for a big guy (95kg)
- seem to be robust enough so far
- fast to inflate imo (couple of big breaths)
