Just pony up and get a thermapen. While it might work only marginally better, an unconditional warranty is an unconditional warranty...

Thank you for your input! Unfortunately Thermapen has only a 2-year warranty, whereas the Javelin PRO Duo has a 3-year warranty. Futhermore, Thermoworks charges a repair fee, something we certainly do not do.

ericklemyelmoI didn't reply because there's no convincing the company that makes the product that what they're making is a cheap knockoff of someone else's design. Also, Thermoworks does not charge a repair fee for issues caused by regular usage.
