**DISCLAIMER POTENTIAL BUYERS**This unit does not work with iOS beyond iOS 7. It should still function as a normal USB though. But it's extremely bad practice for Massdrop to be selling an item that cannot function as advertised without putting that in giant red letters on every page of this drop.
Sure, read the fine print. But assuming there is no return policy as always this is sketchy as hell.
cwelton17It’s an unsustainable business model. Especially in online retail where companies actually have real return policies that they actually honor.
i made my first massdrop purchase w/o reading the small print ????
i was unlucky enough to get the stick - why? because it does not work with the latest OS - all you get is a very expensive USB stick. That's maybe also the reason why Lexar sells this useless products with such a big discount
I tried to contact massdrop and got as feedback - read the fineprint next time and WE DO NOT TAKE RETURNS !!!!
Lexar on the other hand is much better - they send you a RMA after x-emails but w/o a label
So you need to ship by tracked email and hope that they send you another replacement that will not work either
lexarWho did you speak to at Lexar? I emailed their Support, and they told me to go back to the seller. Massdrop (being the seller) is refusing to take it back as a return so I'm stuck in the middle with both the seller and manufacturer refusing to do anything about the problem.
Just a note to any future buyers of this device, Lexar mentioned that this device (the C20i) is compatible with devices on iOS 7 and lower. Yep, you read it right - that's a 7. That's 5 iOS versions ago! (i.e. a 5 year old OS)
DaveTheBrassmanOk, I just read it only works up to iOS 7. If I were Massdrop I wouldn't even carry such a useless product... the only people still using iOS 7 are old folks and stubborn jailbreakers
So it's basically useless with modern iOS, but it's still usable on the USB side. This could be really useful for Tesla owners, if only it were a few inches longer.
I tried a 128Gb with my iPad mini. It worked for about 2 months; and now will not be recognized by the software. The usb side still works on a computer. The lightning connector is useles.
