Anyone has any ideas what type of leather being used here? In addition, the chocolate version seems more like a black colour? Anyone has actual sample of chocolate coloured version?

Any chance at a natural, undyed version?

As someone who's never dealt with actual leather before, I'm hoping someone can provide some guidance. What color/tanning process would best show the age of the leather as time passes? I'm going to be upgrading from a terrible timberland wallet from about 15 years ago, so I intend on carrying this thing for quite some time to come. I want a piece that will look better with age (similar to how titanium framelock pocket knives look better as they develop scratches and wear that show their path through life). Does anyone have any advice for a leather in this drop that will age like a fine wine? Thanks!

Well after doing some research, is there any plan on doing a run of these in vegetable tanned leather in the future? It seems to age better then any other type, and I don't even see it listed as an option on LMs site.

I just joined for one of these in Spruce. Have been using a Ridge wallet for the past few years and am now completely addicted to slim/front pocket carry, but I'm in pursuit of something that's even slimmer (or at least softer) than the Ridge. So glad this drop appeared because I was on the verge of trying a $15 front pocket minimalist leather slim wallets from Amazon which I'm sure is made in China and looks way inferior to this unit in terms of quality/construction. The other option was a Saddleback which looks to be similar in quality to the LM, but priced 3-4x higher depending on the model one compares it to. The 100 year warranty of the Saddleback sure is nice though, and leaves one feeling as if it'd be the last wallet you'd ever have to buy. I checked the LM website and apparently, these have a lifetime warranty as well. So I'm giving it a shot to see if it'll work for me. Happy to support an American company offering a quality product at an extremely reasonable price!

So I noticed that this drop was open again and thought I'd give an update on the Thompson after using it for a couple of months. I LOVE THIS WALLET. I'm currently carrying 8 cards and it is sooo comfy. It's exactly what I wanted. Can't believe I carried thick bi-fold and tri-fold wallets in my back pocket for so long. I didn't know what I was missing. The Ridge was an improvement from that, but it always felt like a hard chunk of plastic or metal in my pocket. Primarily because it's a hard chunk of plastic or metal in your pocket. I broke the LM wallet in with 9 cards initially, but decided that I could do without one of those and went down to 8. No issues with the cards falling out and now that it's broken in, they are easier to insert and remove (as one would expect). I wouldn't hesitate to buy another, or to recommend them to others. Great job, LM! Here are some pics of mine.

Been on massdrop for a few years but this is my first order, is it actually likely to be 28 days before dispatch or does it generally happen sooner?

I think it depends on the type of item and the manufacturer. I've order a few pairs of mystery bag headphones from MEE and gotten them way quicker than anticipated, but these are hard made leather products so it'll probably be the estimated lead time or at least close to it.

I was fortunate to pick one up directly from Tyler in natural veg tanned leather. What a beautiful wallet. I also sourced a Mahogany for my son and both are incredible. I've lent more to the minimalist over the last couple of years and these are just the ticket. I took mine to the UK at the end of last year and it held my pound notes just fine. It's so refreshing not to have this bulky heavy wallet weighing down your pocket. Don't hesitate, just get in on the drop as you won't be disappointed.

Is black an option this time or was the description not updated from last time?
Hello. The black option has been discontinued. Thank you for pointing that out in the description.

For those who couldn't tell from the pictures on MD, the coyote isn't a smooth surface. It is like the back of the leather? Not sure how to define it. But it is an awesome wallet and probably get another in a different finish. Very functional, good quality. Minor defects (in picture) on the thread.

And it is easy to "damage the surface" if you care about such things. I like it and it will develop a patina as I use it.
