Grab a spoon and get ready for dessert: These doubleshot PBT keycaps are designed to look like a big bowl of multi-colored pudding. The bottom three quarters of each cap is done in a pastel colorway, like a sweet treat under the case in a candy shop Read More
I think these are more geared towards a KB with fixed backlighting(I would assume white would work best to give the illusion of RGB backlighting), although I'm sure you could use them with a RGB keyboard too. Like you said though, it defeats the purpose.
I was excited when I first saw these on the list. Then I realized they were tinted instead of pure white and one heck of a lot more expensive than you can get them elsewhere (even tinted). Pudding keycaps are one of my favorite looks but this drop missed the mark by a mile.
spritelingDo you have any recommendation of where else to get tinted pudding ones like these cheaper? I only saw ones with very stark and obnoxiously arranged colors. I don't have an RGB keyboard and I really like the look of these.
HyperX private labeled these also. With the original colors. Unless you really want pre colors. You can pay the extra cash for these. You can purchase them now through Amazon for $24.99 USD. Should be available globally in most regions.

hyp36rmaxTo be fair those don't seem to be dyed judging by the product pics, these are. The pics give the impression of RGB but the part that'd normally be white here is dyed in rainbow gradient.
If you have a keyboard with RGB back lighting, the HyperX one will give more customisation, rather than being just a static rainbow. Although I can see the appeal of this particular set for those with a single colour back-lit keyboard.
There are several pudding sets on Amazon (both in black and white) for around $20-$25 and they seem to be identical, despite being branded differently. What makes this set worth more?
NothatsoThe only difference I've noticed is the colors on the bottom, which would be worse than useless unless your backlighting is only white and you wanted a color spectrum across your keyboard.
NothatsoThese are colored sides specifically for the people with only white backlit keyboards and no RGB. while they seem to be exactly the same as the 20 dollar ones in quality and font it does give people with non-rgb a little color. if they're worth this much money? I don't think so. they didn't even redo the font and the home button still looks like hume.
JediPacmanat least from what I've experienced the ones on AliExpress are extremely cheaply made with subpar build quality.
I wonder how these are though
HaHaBearThere are also good quality double shot PBT versions on aliexpress for the same price. I bought a set and they were good build quality.
I found that with single LED keys the bottom half of most of the keys doesn't get illuminated sufficiently and some of the longer legends on keys didn't fully glow on my Ducky One RGB
