I bought two of these: one for my wife, one for my young son. Both of these cases are still in heavy rotation and after much use, remain good looking and intact.
I would recommend this product.
Holds 5 pens well and protects them. I used this to carry my fountain pens while i was traveling over 130 days a year for a few years and it held up very well (and so did my pens)
Mine is the smaller one, but you cant even tell once it's unzipped. Holds 7 pens/pencils/highlighters total, a laptop cable-lock key, and a usb. everything zips shut without complications. both zipper and canvas are extremely well made. Buying the larger one soon.
The perfect, simple pen case. Made of durable fabric with a vinyl inner lining; the same inner fabric makes the pockets. Definitely not the most stylish option out there, but it's perfect for daily carry. I've had it for 2 years now, and it's only just starting to show some minor wear at the corners.
Currently carry 4 pen/pencils in my case--- with one being a Lamy 2000. It's a little hard to put anything more than 4-5 in the case, especially when I need to put extra inks or an eraser. However, I understand since it's a little bit more simplistic --- that's part of the look. Price point was a little high for just this though, especially since the zipper sometimes gives me trouble. Overall, I don't regret the buy too much.
Very sturdy and compact. The material is still intact without any rips/cuts even after many months of aggressive use. Unfortunately, no good place to put things like an eraser or pencil lead refills - only 5 slots for pens/pencils
I bought this product 2 years ago, and I've used it daily since. Here are my thoughts.
BuildThe materials are outstanding. 2 years of daily use and it still looks pretty much new with the exception of some wear on the corners (Navy), and I don't exactly baby my stuff. Thezipper is a chunky boye, and opens very smoothly. However, closing it seems to have a bit of resistance. The stitching hasn't frayed or come loose. However, the cordura itself has worn out a little bit at the corners, which is I guess expected on fabric.
Design and Use
Looks are rather subjective so I won't bother talking about that except to say that I think it looks good. Inside are 5 sleaves. They are however, not of the same size, with the sleeve on the extreme left of the case being narrower, while the extreme right sleeve is slightly wider than the rest. One thing I appreciate is that the sleeves positions are in a way so that when folded shut, the pens on either side of the case do not rub against each other (so long as you close it carefully). Size wise, they're big enough to fit most of my pens (Vanishing Point, Lamy Safari, Homo Sapiens). However, the smaller pocket, while fitting my Lamy snugly, was not able to fit my Homo Sapiens (which admittedly is a bit of a monster of a pen). The flat profile of the case however means that you will only be able to carry pens/pencils in the sleeves, and unable to fit anything inside.
Overall this is a good product, and a convenient way to carry your pens around with you, so long as you're only carrying pens around.
