Shame it sold out so quick, but good to see such an interest in an amazing bit of kit. CountyComm don't ship outside of the US so having this on MD is a bonus. Bring on the re-drop and count me in!
Ogen_the_MaticHey Ogen, I think it's safe to say that this drop will end sooner than later. We place the order with the vendor as soon as the drop ends.
DBSSThat is the pot calling the kettle black don't you think?
Take a look at your comment history, all you do is complain...but I hope you have a great day.
This light says it has the same LED (Cree XP-G2 R5) as the brass version that sold about 5-6 weeks ago, HOWEVER, the light output is clearly NOT the same temperature, the brass version is closer to 7000K-9000K and THIS copper version is around 4500K-5500K. WHY are they different if the same LED was used?
I'm not as happy with the copper color output as i am with the brass color output.
rbrjr1I'm wondering if I received the correct LED now. Is there a way to take this apart and look at the LED to tell if I've received the item I payed for? Thanks in advance. I've had my CU Maratac for some time now and I do love it. I love CU in general to be honest and although I know a lot of people like to let there CU get a nice patina over time, I still take Brasso to mine so I can see the copper shine. =)
Thanks, Lukas. We've seen how successful these beauties can go here. No doubt the next AAA drop would once again sell like hotcakes. And I hope MD would also consider a drop for the AA Copper. I'm sure we copper lovers would love to have a set of these babies.
What happened here? I just got the email and opened... and it had already ended?
With 64 users already requesting another drop (@11:30est), would the mfr be open to just adding more units to the drop?
Great shipping time! Just got mine in the mail (of the 400 batch).
Having a problem though. As I cycle through the modes, M/L/H, one out of four or five times it cycles fine but sometimes I get a little pulse/flicker then nothing, or just nothing. Usually in between low to high. Did I get a dud?
I also had the flickering problem. I used a q-tip dipped in 91% isopropyl alcohol to clean the threads & the contacts & the flickering is almost completely gone & the modes work much better now. Maratac support mentioned that there might be excess lube on those threads which causes this problem.
Also; there's a post on CPF that says you should separate the head & take out the battery & lay a piece of 320 grit sandpaper on a mousepad & then turn the light body upside-down & twist the body 4 times in one direction & then 4 times in the other direction on the sandpaper. Then wipe down the inside & outside surfaces & re-assemble the light.
Like I said, wiping w/the q-tip seemed to do the trick, but I'm going to try that sandpaper thing in a few says & see if that makes it even better.
I'll report back with the results.
wilburThanks! I don't have any rubbing alcohol on hand, so I just wiped my threads with a tissue and it seemed to help a lot. It still messes up, but not quite as often. I'll have to try with rubbing alcohol later.
Curious to see if the sandpaper helps.
