It's just a joke. Don't get butthurt. If one was a bike messenger and used this as his primary, that would be very impractical. There...all better now? Good, have a binky.
I've been trying to figure out a use for this thing for a few years now. Every time someone suggests one, I think to myself, well you could use it for that, but there's all ready a "thing" for that, and while this thing would work, it wouldn't work better. You mention tripods, but good tripod bags have features this bag doesn't (like protection for a mounted tripod head). Light stands often ship with cheap bags, so this would be an upgrade for sure, but worth the cost for the capacity? What do you say?

I EDC a Panzerfaust and have been looking for something like this for quite some time.
Got my bag from the last drop and I absolutely love it. I've used it as a range bag, gym bag and even to lug my MTG decks around.
For those wondering, yes you can fit a broken down 16" AR in it just fine and have room for mags, ear pro and other goodies inside. When stuffed with extra clothes it makes a pretty good support for prone shooting. It's also perfect for lighter gym sessions where all I need to transport is my adipowers, some chalk, a belt and my knee sleeves. Now I just need to find a good bladder for it, any suggestions?
OMG! Massdrop can you possibly find a slower shipment method! 12 days in Transit? Are you kidding me? You can take a wagon train across the prairie in less time. P Lease add a few dollars to shipping costs and use a reasonable service USPS priority.
as someone who will not be carrying anything military/tactical and just using it as a open day hiking bag, does anyone know what it looks like inside? does it have compartments?
KatjiWell yes. I bought mine when they were new (mine is the foliage color) and I got it precisely because it has no internal compartments beyond the sleeve. I had a long item I wanted a bag for and internal dividers were a no go.
If only it was a wee bit longer to accommodate a 9 foot 4 pc fly rod! plus associated gear like reel, spare spool, a few lines, leaders, tippet spools etc. Just to store everything needed for each outfit by AFTMA class in separate bags, each outfit ready to grab and go.
