This is the first time that I have gotten excited enuf about a knife drop here to commit. I can get it in one place for the same price, free S&H, but if the price falls to $149+, I will own one. Maserin makes good knives. M390 is great steel. I have a Benchmade with this. I really wish that blue was offered. It is much prettier. This is (I'm guessing here) a great knife. I own one Maserin; I believe it's called a turtle. It is quite small, maybe 2" at best. Damascus. It was a gift, but F&F are great; holds an edge well. (Steel-?). I would think that a lot of people would have signed up by now.
Four inches of M390... not bad. If they're gonna use metal for the scales, why not Ti at this price range? Sadly the glass breaker on the end is a non-starter for me. I would love if knives could continue being knives and not half-assed multi-tools.
i got this knife as an xmas present, in the blue color. All I can say is I am shocked more people have not jumped on this drop. The steel is fantastic at this price point, and the knife is superb in every way.
The fit and finish is excellent, and the action being on a bearing is smooth as can be. Its not too loose or too tight, its perfect. I have knives that range from $20 up to $500 and this knife is my favorite of the bunch. This has replaced my CRK as my favorite every day carry. I cant find anything wrong with this knife.
It is a liner lock, but it locks up very strong with no play whatsoever. The weight and balance of the knife is perfect in every way, it sits perfect in my hands and the balance is exactly as it should be. I wear an XL for glove size as a reference.
This knife has opened my eyes to maserin as a maker, and I now want to purchase many more of their knives. If they are at least as well built as this knife, I want them all.
The Title of the drop says it's a frame lock, yet the specs list it as a liner lock, and even if they didn't, it is quite clearly a liner lock. People noticed the mistaken Title the last time this was dropped. It should be fixed by now.
Maserin is a great maker, but this has got to be near the bottom-line of his offerings. The handles on this offering are aluminum. Every frame lock I've ever seen by Maserin are made with Titanium handles, which would likely shave at least an ounce off the weight, while doubling the price (or close to it) over what this one is going for. C'mon Massdrop, get it together.
This has the look of sexy all over it, and the price is excellent.
I shal step away from my keyboard now, and think longingly - then purchase before time is up.
Really want this but hesitant to spend $124.99 USD on a knife, seeing that I currently own a Leatherman e33L w/ 154cm blade... Is the upgrade worth the price?
Was just cutting food on a hard surface. Not sure why it happened. You can Google s110v chipping or s110v sharpening. It probably depends what sharpening abrasives are used and the edge angle.
In any case wood is generally soft and won't cause much issues, however if you deflect the edge when working with any material , you may see chipping with s110v. Other types of steel may bend instead of chip. Chipping doesn't happen all the time see here this guy has no issues with chipping
