Announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in 2016, Optoma NuForce’s HEM line features the latest balanced armature driver technology, custom-designed linear-phase crossovers, and the excellent sound quality we’ve come to expect from the company. Inside the acoustically calculated, vibration-free Lexan earpiece, each in-ear monitor has a different number of drivers that increases with the model number: the HEM Dynamic uses one balanced dynamic micro driver per side, the HEM1 uses one Knowles balanced armature driver per side, the HEM4 has two Knowles BA drivers per side, and the HEM6 has three Read More
What the hell my order has been shipping in my country 5 days. For context Singapore is 42 km pretty sure DhL would reach in 2 days by Apple shipping. So 5 days for being dispatched from a facility in Singapore is ridiculous. To make it worse it still hasn’t arrived. Massdrop support gave me the best line wait for 1 month. So you mean to tell me it takes 1 month to get from the facility to my house. Well done guys.
I think that those of us who are getting the dynamics just got screwed by Massdrop - Massdrop x NuForce EDC In-Ear Monitors look exactly like the dynamics for $40 less. The Massdrop x NuForce are actually better because they have both cables.
oooteeddeei feel it, also the fact that amazon sold the hem2 for 60 bucks. i usually amazon first before i massdrop but the bluebox got the best of me.
anyone heard the hem1 or dynamic? im not familiar with how they sound.
i have 2 pairs of hem2 and a nuforce ne-800m, recently sold my pair of hem4 and hem 6. until a few months ago, they ( the 2 and 6) were my dailies.
The hem 2 and 6 are SPECTACULAR. the hem 4 i didn't like, and i haven't heard the 8. i also have an order in on the massdrop x nuforce EDC which im assuming is like the hem dynamic?
the 2 series and up come with this waterproof translucent pelican style hard case that rocks. not sure if the lower models have that. the case alone is awesome.
the hem shells are my favorite shells out of all of the iems i own. super comfortable and low profile, enough that you can lie down with them in your ears. similar to shure and westone shells.
will a blue box come back with the hem 2/4/6/8 again?
fyi, hem 2& 4 is currently both 129$ on amazon
im not a huge fan of mid accentuated headphones, which was my interpretation of the 4. prefer either bass heavy or more neutral. preferred the sound sig of the 2, and the more balanced sig of the 6 with it's better stage. i thought the 6 sounded to me sort of like the was like the 4 and the 2 combined and was just a generally better presentation imo. the 6 is also periodically on sale for like ~200$ on amazon which is a no brainer when it hits that price. haven't heard the 8 but hear nice things.
jersey_boyi've auditioned the hem 1's theyre not bad but not that great either, abit lacking in bass quantity. The nuforce edc is a different tuned nuforce hem dynamic iirc
Just to make sure I'm reading this right... I have a 40% chance of getting a set of HEMs for list price and get to wait for 6 weeks for that honor? Versus buying from Amazon and getting them in 2 days?
FrostyPTrue, basically I see it as a 50-50 chance and I'm not a particularly lucky person. Makes deciding whether to get the Thinksound ON2 instead of these a bit easier.
