Has anyone reviewed the 2.0 version already? How's the wobble on this desk? Went to IKEA and their motorized desk was very wobbly. The manual lift desk was way more stable, but they were out of stock so I am still on the market. Also looking at Autonomous desk - would be nice to know if it's wobbly as well. Thanks!

notrixI have the autonomous desk and it's not wobbly at all. also this massdrop desk looks identical to the autonomous desk and is the same price.....

evangsIt's really not the same price though. If I want a dual motor with no tabletop from Autonomous then its going to cost me $399 after shipping from them. From mass drop its $279 with free shipping.

Raescheah good catch and it appears the control panel while similar isn't exactly the same. It's actually $349 for the dual motor diy kit. the $399 dual motor comes with a top. I don't have any experience with this knockoff but the autonomous one is very sturdy and works great. if this is at the same quality level this would be an excellent buy

notrixI'm pretty sure the MD desk is coming out of the same factory as the Autonomous desk (if it's not a simple rebrand) - we have two of those, and they look and feel great. Super stable, even at 46" height. I'd skip the black/white tabletops, though - that's just a plastic coating on a wood base, and my Piano Black tabletop was all scratched up within a week or two of normal use. A.ai replaced it under warranty with a Bamboo one, which I just love to death. But a BYOTT (Bring Your Own Table Top) is probably the best solution when it comes to durability and liking what you get. It all screws up with 1/4" self-tapping wood screws, so p. much any non-glass table top will work.

JonathonBartonI would second that notion. I got the diy kit and used my own top. Love my desk
if it is simply a rebrand and is coming out of the same factory I'd be curious why this product is under the massdrop made badge. what did they do to customize it?

evangs@evangs - I don't know if MD did anything to customize, but with the number of "MD Made" products on the site, I'm skeptical that any of them are actually engineered or customized (beyond a logo) by MD.
There are just so many of them that for them to actually be MD made, they'd have to have an army of engineers on-staff.
But y'know what? At the end of the day, **I don't care**, and don't really think anyone else should, either.
Autonomous.ai brought, like, three high demand, niche-specific products to market at a reasonable price. They, too, tell you all day long that they designed it/engineered it/blah blah blah. MD has the same desk at the same price. (A.ai prices lower and adds shipping. MD has basically the same table for more, but has free shipping...so it's ultimately the same price)
Meanwhile, MD offers TONS of products that (frequently) I've never even SEEN before. So I don't care if they're slapping an "MD Made" label on the image, and sourcing out of the same China factory as 13 other (smaller, less known) dropshippers. MD has All The Things in one place, and I've never seen the same thing somewhere else for less.
So, I know that "MD Made" is bullshytt, and I wish they wouldn't bother (because it's completely transparent to anyone who looks around the internet for more than a day), but I don't feel strongly enough about it to let it stop me from buying something cool from MD. =)

JonathonBartonMassdrop made doesn't necessarily mean that they developed the product but rather helped make it a reality or put their own spin on it. In this case I was hoping to learn what they did to make this desk different than the other very similar products. Headphones is an area that Massdrop does quite a bit of collaborations where they will work with Sennheiser for example and release a HD650 with a slightly different sound profile, color scheme, etc and brand it as the HD6XX. In that case it's pretty easy to see what was changed.
So yes I agree I don't think people should care that Massdrop didn't do the design work, that is not their role. I would like to know what they did to the product to put the Massdrop made badge on it, what features were added, removed etc. I enjoy the custom level of products that Massdrop has brought to market and even sold one of my own products through Massdrop.

evangsWell, the feet illustrated are different than the feet on my A.ai desks, so there's that, I guess. =) The lifting mechanism looks to be 100% the same, which is understandable since that's where the, if you'll pardon the pun, heavy lifting comes, engineering-wise. =)

JonathonBartonWell that's not what the description says... This desk has dual motors and 2 inches in hight over my brand new ai desk. I got bamboo. It's a bit wobbly at full hight. Much less than IKEA one but noticable. Doesn't interfere with using it for me. If I didn't need a desk right now, def would have gotten this one over ai. And I love my ai desk!
