Finally, a pair of running socks that won’t wear out. They have a superpower: a blend of merino wool and Spectra fiber, whose durability, comfort, flexibility, and light weight are unmatched in the world of performance fibers Read More
This just sounds like the most over-engineered sock in existence. Socks arguably make or break the experience of a shoe - but socks made from fiber claiming to be 15 times stronger than steel? Nah, I’m out.
katz_meowI don't know about stronger than steel, but mine(bought 2019) still looks brand new other than the slight fuzz around the reinforced area.
I work in housekeeping(houseman), so constantly moving around in steel capped boots, pushing steel trolleys filled with linens.
Compared to the usual high cut socks that are commonly sold for Tradies/Work Socks, in the past year, i've prolly gone through 5 3-pack Work Socks vs this 1 2-pack
Usually there would've been a hole 2 months in around the toe area and flat/nearly tearing through on the base of the sock due to pushing heavy trolley on an incline.
These may be great but I do not think I can bring myself to pay $20 for a pair of socks. I don't think I ever paid more than $30 for a pair of sneakers.
My favorite socks are the Gold Toe 13-15 crew and I usually buy them when they are on sale for $10 for six pair.
JAZONGI think that would be a great idea.... or, just don’t send out an email getting me excited thinking you restocked them, only for me to find out there is nothing for me. Drop.... offer us more socks... you obviously have no problems selling them.
No one sock works for everybody. I use a low light sock over a ankle height very thin liner sock for hiking (wear hiking shoes). These have worked quite well that way. They tend to breath better than my Darn Tough version. Although both are very good I wish Drop would get it together for a new order. Seems like they are in disarray as a company. If they restock I would order more large and encourage my some to get some too.
I have these spectra socks in the crew version, which I wore on a four day backpacking trip...they were a fail. Under the ball of the foot, instead of a patch of cushioning, there are three lines of looped (spectra?) fabric. These lines gave me terrible blisters! Luckily, I had a pair of standard, regulation merino sleep socks which I limped around in for the rest of the trip. So that's the con; the pro is that, as advertised, they didn't wear out.
Let me get this straight - these are 'socks', made for 'running', as in - no shoe required? And not only that - but won't wear out? Man, I have never heard of these
