Product Description
We teamed up with The British Belt Company to develop the ideal dress belt: one that’s handsome and understated, affordable and well-made. The British Belt Company has been producing leather goods since 1946, using centuries-old leather-working techniques to bring out the most in each item Read More
Color is pretty accurate, the leather feels nice, and overall the belt looks good. My only complaint is that there is very significant creasing where the belt meets the leather after only several days, and I am concerned that wearing it a few more times is going to cause some significant damage considering how worn it already looks. It is slightly nitpicky because in day to day wear, the crease is hidden by the buckle.
Don't buy. You can easily find better at comperable prices.
The belt quality is complete garbage. I would buy Beckett Simonon instead.
The belt creases like crazy. Not worth the $50 by a long shot. Quite disappointed with Massdrop on this one (Not with The British Belt though, their belts were always garbage. Just a shame it took me 3 belts to find that out)

Last picture is for you to compare to how they came in the mail after I bought them.
Some of you might think that the creases are there because of pressure I exert on the belt, and you are right, but not to that extent. Creases due to the buckle pressing on the leather is somewhat understandable, but not to the extent of reaching 2 holes further than where the buckle is (I buckle on the 3rd hole on the black belt, and 2nd hole on the tan). The belt looks very bad if you have good attention to details, which my girlfriend does, so I now need to spend even more money on replacements.
This spring I bought The BBCo. Miller and Langham belts from Massdrop and think both deserved 5 stars. I expected that being more expensive this massdrop made belt would be of similar quality at least. Look at the pics - seems they have dropped QC considerably. New $50 belt should not look like this. Still usable, so added a star.
The product works out to be 75 dollars Canadian approx. The belt is no more than a 75 dollar belt--and that is pushing it. It is not bad quality but it is certainly not impressive, nor is it a deal. I'll stick with the Italian made products
Honestly, I expected something of much higher quality. For reference, I own Beltman belts, as well as Equus belts, and both are far and away superior to the BBC dress belt. I will also admit that I'm a picky son of a bitch. If you are expecting high end belt quality here, you will be disappointed.
The BBC dress belt is fairly lightweight and thin. That’s not a problem in and of itself, but that makes it floppy, which makes it look messy.
The quality of the top layer of leather is also questionable, as it seems to be damaged pretty easily, creasing significantly where the buckle sits, and the finish cracks or crazes where the belt flexes. Yes, all belts crease where the buckle sits, but there is a qualitative difference between some marking and patina and actual damage to the surface finish. No, I'm not cranking on the belt like I'm securing a load of logs to a flatbed.
This is maybe a $30 belt, not a $50 belt. I quit wearing mine, and would much rather spend $100 on a belt that will last me for years, than spend $50 on a belt that looks MUCH worse for the wear after a half-dozen wears.
vlsmThose aren't really valid comparisons. The two brands you mention are either gun belts which are much thicker or much more expensive than these belts. I'm not saying these are great but this is a $50 dress belt. It's not designed to be a thick belt that you hang a gun, mags, and other tools off of.
dobbermnI recognize that these are higher quality products, but I think they do provide a valid basis for comparison. I wasn't expecting Equus/Beltman quality at a third the price point, but I didn't even get a third of the quality for the third of the cost.
These BBC belts were represented as high quality dress belts, and in my estimation, they fall well short of high quality, and I feel that I overpaid at $50. Fit, finish, and cosmetic durability were all lacking, given that the finish on the BBC belt was visibly damaged after one use.
The leather is beautiful and I have received many compliments on the belt. The only issue is the quality and durability. I have had the belt for about 4 months and there are stretch marks and cracking throughout the leather.
