I think that an October 31 ship date is absolutely ridiculous! I don't recall being told ANYTHING close to this when I ordered. I'm noticing that you're not responding either. What customer service book did you get that method from?

Yeah, mine was originally September, I'm sure if it. Pretty bummed that I put my money into this drop when I should have just give and bought a belt from a shop. Gonna be real careful next time

AveryCI’m curious still of why the delay and why the utter avoidance of explanation. Time to post my thoughts on my various Facebook page. After all, you do want us to spread the word right? Maybe an answer will come then. Regardless, my belt should be a sheer work of flawless art when, or if, I ever get it.

AveryCHey everyone,
Avery's above update still holds true. The majority of the belts have been shipped out with the remaining scheduled to start leaving the warehouse by the end of the week. We are still on track to beat our original expected ship date of Oct 31, 2017. Thanks !

I think that Mass Drop may have lost sight of their purpose: to be cheap. I can go to Walmart and pick up a belt for $12. I don’t think that it’s Italian leather, but I don’t know since all leather looks about the same. I do know that absolutely nobody I have ever met has ever once looked at my belt unless they were trying to find my belt. If you’re gonna flex, do it on something that will make you happy —or at least something people will notice.

George_MalloryThe point of Drop is to sell things cheaper than you’d pay for an equivalent. This belt is cheaper than most other belts of equivalent quality. And it is already on the lower end of quality belts. If you don’t value quality in a belt, so be it; this drop isn’t for you.

So I don't know 'bout y'all, but I'm loving mine, ~6 months in, almost daily use. I hope nobody was expecting this to be a dress belt or anything.

REVIEW REVIEW REVIEW
I've had the belt for around a month now, I think. I have worn them every time I've worn a jeans in this time. This review will be my personal opinions and some photos.
So when I got this belt, I looked at the color and I was like YES. I LOVE lighter color leather goods which are meant to be worn and worn and worn, cause they age beautifully and show a lot of contrast over time. So, that was a big plus. Then I touched the belt and it went SQUEAAAAK. I got the feeling that you get when you scratch your nails on the chalkboard. Who even uses chalkboards any more? Man I used to love sketching on chalkboards as a kid.
SO. The leather definitely had that new leather squeak, which has gone down over time but is still there (when I move the buckle around the metal against leather goes squeakety hell). While this is definitely not unheard of (my Common Projects sneakers squeaked like it was being tortured for about two months on tiled floors. I had to wear it at home to break it in), it can get annoying when you're putting it on. Thankfully you don't really have joints on your waist so you won't be moving your belt much while worn.
The buckle seems to be substantial and good quality. The top and the bottom of the buckle are separate, and the roller is a third piece of metal that connects them. Let me see if I can create a diagram of sorts to show this (probably later). But it definitely feels hefty and nicely finished.
It is sewn onto the belt, which is imo a little inconvenient. I feel that they should definitely have gone with Chicago screws on this belt since this is DEFINITELY not an ideal belt for more formal occasions--definitely limited to jeans and maybe chinos. The buckle really shouldn't come apart, but really the option of changing the buckle just in case something happens would've been nice. And the whole argument of "this is hand-stitched, it's more expensive than Chicago screws" is an argument AGAINST the decision--if Chicago screws are cheaper, and more suited to this belt application, then why not use Chicago screws and offer the belt at maybe $2 cheaper? Stitching made sense on the previous BBC collab belt, and I understand the reasoning there, but not for this one. :)
Alright. The leather itself seems to be fine. The belt is pretty raw and has an unfinished aesthetic. No burnishing etc. Unfinished edges. This goes with the overall idea of the belt, which is nice. Leaving the edges unfinished also exposes the leather to the elements and will help it age. I will upload some photos of the belt after a month of usage (but only a few days in that month), and you can see how it's going.
I like that it's not super thick nor super wide. Yes, thicker leather will probably last longer, but honestly I'm just a regular guy who wears belts for aesthetic purposes, not functional. Most of my time is spent sitting in a chair using keyboards and pointing devices, not guns or horse reins. Thick big belts can be overkill for my use case.
So overall, I am happy with this belt. At this price point, I think this is a good value. It is a good choice for the more casual days and if you want something that will age nicely with time. I Can not speak to the durability because I've only had it for a month but honestly I feel this should hold up just fine. Just condition the leather from time to time (maybe once a year or something if you're really hard on it ie going hiking or biking all the time wearing your jeans and sweating the hell out of your waist). I wish the leather didn't squeak, but that'll solve itself in a month or two. I do really wish that it had Chicago screws or snaps rather than a sewn in buckle, but I can live with this.

After ~10 wears I think, sorry not in natural light: General scuffs, nothing too obvious yet:

You can see where the belt touches the belt loops on my jeans. Leaving the edges unfinished lets the indigo dye the leather which is nice.

What a waste of money! Ordered all 3 belts, all of them WAY too small. Size 34 is probably 28-30 in real life... Size 36 is about 30-32. Shouldn't be mislabeled like that! How do I send them back?

yurykIf you want to trade for a larger size let me know. I'm a 32" waist and what I ordered (36") is too large for me - tightest hole isn't tight enough. I ordered Black. Anyone reading this that wants to trade let me know, thinking a 34" would work for me.

AntneeSounds like you made the same mistake I did of listening to the “size up 4”” people. In fact the usual 2” up from *actual waist size* is correct. Hope you get the trade you’re looking for!

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS BE AWARE I purchased two belts in May 2019, one of them 34 inch black belt appeared to be an used/returned item with very obvious stretched marks. The return policy for this item is that US buyers can return with any reason within 30 days. Hence, it is quite possible that Drop would end up with a number of returned items. It appears that the way Drop deals with this issue is to ship out the returned items to international buyers as they cannot return or ask for any form of compensation even the belt is returned/used. Drop confirmed to me this is the case. Drop also did not deny the belt I received was a returned/used item, they merely told me there was nothing they would do. This issue should apply to any item which is (1) ready to ship; and (2) with a return policy which allows US buyers to return. I have 4 of these belts and I know those marks would not be on a new belt. Lastly, Drop customer service is as notorious as what I have read. For me, it was a 50% chance to receive a returned/used item. Good luck!

erickongThanks for pointing it out. Now buyers from outside of US and EU have even higher chance to receive returned/used goods. Again, good luck!

Received my belt last week but just opened the package today.
It's noticeably darker than what's pictured. Kind of disappointing. Anyone else have this issue with theirs? I've owned a vegetable-tanned leather belts in my lifetime, and there all considerably lighter than this belt which allowed them to age really well over time.

So anyone over 40" does not need a belt then?
