Mystery Ranch cut their teeth by producing some of the best packs (line-gear) for the military and wildland firefighters. Wildland firefighting packs have to be made for extreme conditions. Think of 35-40 lbs in a small pack on your back for 12-14 hours all summer long getting thrown around into helicopters and the back of trucks. And also think of hiking over really harsh terrain then throwing your pack off into a rock pile in the middle of a fire to take a quick lunch break, using the pack as a backrest. 1000 denier nylon Cordura is about the toughest fabric out there (balistic cloth may be a little tougher) and the use of YKK coil zippers size 10 (the biggest they make) should make this duffle bag as close as it can be to indestructible (no such thing as indestructible) for a soft pack. I know I sound like an advertisement for MR but I don't even own one. I just work with many who do. And they love their MR gear. When my pack wears out I'll go to this bag.
I cant recomend this company, Massdrop,... 6 plus weeks for delivery, and even then it was returned for "insufficient address" And they had the gall to charge $9 for shipping. I could have had a custom sewed order from Indonesia faster than this... needless to say Massdrop is a dud and I will be Dropping them... not worth the hassle and time to only save few$.
Die hard fan for Mystery Ranch rucks. ROUS, 6500 etc. They are ridiculously well-made and most comfortable ruck I ever used.
They are obviously buy once product. Sadly I paid full price for this.
If cash is short I would recommand GTFO duffel for from FC. Another no brainier go to brand for durability and price.
They are superbly made, not at quality level of Mystery Ranch (so as friendlier price) but it serve me well.

This is also perfect for motorcycle too when I went on long ride.
Also, if someone saw Mystery Ranch brand on your backpack it can get stolen easily, I don't know why (why not go for LV/Gucci? how they know?).
I go so far to remove all brand tag when I prep them.
This very same bag is on their website at $130 ... Here the price is listed at $298... making it a huge discount... This makes me trust Massdrop pricing much less.
BofrIf they go on the information from the manufacturer, then that's not an issue with falsification on their part. MSRP is fraught with all sorts of problems. My best advice is to do your due diligence on any drop (or when buying anything).
