RainingManLaptops come with a power plug and a massive battery already. Selling external power banks for laptops which are smaller than the laptop battery is a dumb idea.
mjn85yes, get a power bank tht is the same size or bigger than your Laptop's battery. You are right. The power bank will still weigh only about a 5th of the Laptop. Considering you probably already are carrying your Laptop in your Backpack another battery wouldn't be so bad.
And if you want to charge your Laptop on the go you still have to carry around a AC Converter and cable. Going the extra step for conveinience and ussing a power bank for ultimate portability doesnt't seem so bad for me.
And also very little Laptops have a massive battery. Like almost none of them. Apples new 16 insch seems prommising tho. If you only have about 600-800$ to spare on a Laptop they usually only have a battery life of 5-6 hours. Some powerbanks can charge that up about 1.5x times...
mjn85Not that "dumb" when your laptop has 10% power left and you have 2 more hours before your flight lands, arrives, or takes off. Having a powerbank beside you is a lifesaver and a whole lot easier than scrambling around looking for an available outlet, asking people to unplug their phone chargers, or asking them to move so you can work near the power outlet. Give me a power bank every time rather than the hassle of a wall adapter and the risk that all of the outlets are occupied.
glennacIt's dumb. There's no point in an "ultra-thin" thing that's going to have to be massive anyway. You might as well get one of the many dozens of already exsting 20,000mAh chargers on the market available for less on Amazon and other sites.
RainingManThere's nothing new about this 20,000mAh charger, except that normally 20,000mAh ones are not marketed as being "ultra-thin" because that's generally a stupid idea, as it means extra wide and long, and thus extra risk of being bent and broken and exploding. "Ultra-thin" makes sense for ones with a much lower capacity though.
mjn85Flat is nice for a laptop bag. No unweldy bulge like a brick-sized power bank would produce. Naturally, it's not for everyone. But that doesn't make this product dumb.
