An “IF Design Award” winner in 2017, the Nitecore LR12 doubles as a 360-degree lantern and a flashlight. At 4.2 inches long, it’s smaller than just about any lantern out there, but that doesn’t mean it sacrifices power Read More

Is it too much to ask for better descriptions? Why not put the various modes and run times, heck just copy paste it from Nitecore's site. I hate having to google simple stuff such as specs. And while I'm picking bones, where stuff is made. I know just about all lights are made in China, and Nitecore is a chines made brand, but with knives and other products it is not clear cut.
I also expected it to come with a battery. A bit disappointed for the price. I do with there was a reflector cap to go in the lantern end. I will probably make something that will work. Will make it function as a lantern much better by blocking and redirecting the light through the diffuse lantern.
TsanguineJust double checked and sure enough one of the images contains a battery. Pretty sure everyone expects a battery when it is advertised in the images. I've ordered a number of drops and this is the first one that has put a bad taste in my mouth.
I have the smaller LA10 model that uses AAs and it's a nice little light. The diffuser is clever and useful.
If this came in a neutral white / high CRI version I'd get one. I'm sure it will eventually show up like it did for the LA10.
(I don't think this comes with a battery, despite the picture showing a random Nitecore battery.)
Thank you for the clarification!
Any user interface that requires two hands to make it work makes the flashlight useless as far as I'm concerned... another stupid Chinese designed switching mechanism... designed by people who never use illumination tools in real life....
48thRonin2It’s primarily meant to be used in a tent and perfectly suited for that purpose. 1000lm is way too much for that application, but you can run it at lower levels and enjoy the increased runtime compared to the LA10. Shame about the lack of a CRI option, though.
I just received LR12 - I was expecting it to include a battery. The description includes a picture of a battery - not as good of a deal as I thought it was.
