How susceptible is this pen to scratches? Against other plastic pens and plastic stuff?

I have to ask abut the “grey” pen. It does not look grey to me, it loks more ike a teal or petrol color. Can anyone who has seen the grey pen clarify this for me ?

Seeing the drop again with the clear option... I do like it.. LOL. But, I am ordering the Leonardo Officina Italiana Momento Zero... so will have to pass this time around. ;)

I love how the pen looks, and I’m not having any issues with leaking, but I can’t get the damn thing to write. I’m constantly having hard starts, skips, etc. I’m not having clogs (priming the feed and small shakes get ink literally everywhere, which can be fun), the stub nib just doesn’t write. Anyone else having problems with this?

That does sound weird. If you're up to it post a photo of the nib front and back, let's have a look at it. Also you might want to contact @yachu from Opus 88.

Where did you buy the pen? Some sellers will take the pen back and fix or replace them. A more costly option is to get the nib tuned. I would recommend John Matthias at nibs.com. I had a similar problem with my Visconti and he made it write beautifully.

Has anyone had issues with the reservoir not sealing fully? I've tried a few times to empty the the writing reservoir, close the plunger and write out the remaining ink. What I'm seeing is that the reservoir, tightly closed, has already refilled. Am I doing something wrong?

I just received the replacement from @yachu at Opus 88. I can now say that not only do they make excellent pens, but also provide excellent customer service. Opus have earned a spot on my list of top ten FP brands. Hoping for more good things to come.

I have a general question. How susceptible is the Opus 88 to staining? I realize that different inks have different staining properties, and different pens/plastics have the same trait. I am awaiting my Opus 88 that I ordered in the recent drop. Because of concerns with staining I requested the gray version of the pen. The question is for possible future reference, if I should decide to expand my Opus 88 collection in the future.

I've been using iroshizoku ink on the clear version of the demonstrator and have had no problems with the staining anywhere except for the cap, which has a little 1cm blot of blue ink on it that I couldn't clean because it was in the cap... I should get some bottle brushes haha.

Not sure if Yachu below is legit, Tried writing to the email jingi@ms13.hinet.net numerous times, no response. Can Massdrop intervene and let us know if this is a legit response. Bought a gray one based on the response from Yachu below. Now, not sure if I did the right thing. Zero customer service or presence in USA as far as I can tell. Got a leaky clear one and hoping the gray one won't leak. And what happens down the road? How do you get it serviced? replacement seal? etc..

I just wanted to respond back to the series of emails related to the leaking threads. My pen purchased through Massdrop had the same issue. I emailed OPUS at the email address provided and could not have been more satisfied with the response. I quickly received a follow-up email from the manufacturer and today received my replacement pen. The process was fast, painless, and the manufacturer could not have been more responsive. I will, without hesitation, consider purchasing another pen from OPUS - great customer service on all accounts based upon my experience.

I've received my replacement pen today as well, it was indeed very painless and the manufacturer was lovely! It was quick as hell too. I asked for a different color and nib and they delivered! Thank you very much, good customer service on all ends.
