Featuring a translucent resin body in rich shades of brown, the special-edition M200 Smoky Quartz is designed to give pen enthusiasts an unobstructed view of the inner workings of Pelikan’s iconic piston mechanism. TimeXFree shipping vs. warranty with an extra $5 toward shipping. To me, the warranty is definitely worth it. YMMV.
But since posting their link, they've sold out of everything but extra fine. Since they're a dealer, they'll get more in stock.
And for a few bucks more (or ask for a price match) Goulet Pens also provides a warranty since they're a dealer. https://www.gouletpens.com/products/pelikan-m200-fountain-pen-smoky-quartz-special-edition
Say what you will about Pelikans being overpriced; this is one heck of a good deal. Right now, Goldspot has a special running on the Smoky Quartz for $105. It’s a great price, and it’s just for the pen alone. And here we have pen and ink for $115. To reiterate: Pelikans may be overpriced, but I don’t know where you’ll get a deal like this, unless someday they’re remaindered on some website for a mere $114. If I didn’t already have two of them, I’d snatch this up in a jiffy, but my jiffy is in the shop, and I’m left with my Subaru, so I’ll have to pass on this one, but —from a Pelikan lover, hit that button now!
So let me get this straight; we're offering this same M200 pen, in clear plastic (as a demonstrator, for $99 on another drop) but now we're offing the same M200, in transparent brown, with a bottle of fancy, over-priced ink, for ONLY eleven dollars more?
Well that can only mean three things:
A) the clear version was as over-priced as I said it was, or
B) they're both so over-priced, that someone can toss in a $28 bottle of ink, and still turn a profit, and
C) everyone who bought that clear demonstrator is kind'a pissed right about now!
Well this is a disappointment, the nib is the worst I own :( It hard starts and skips all the time.
This pen costs twice of what my other three do bundled together and is by far the worst of them.
At least the ink is lovely.
EndlessPens has this for $110 plus 10% Off for 'Pre-Order' so $99, but this deal with Free Shipping is very good. I'll see if I want to order anything else on EndlessPens or just take advantage of this deal...I swear I've picking up all my x-mas presents already.....pens for everyone!
