Is anyone aware of any current widespread mold issues with Private Reserve inks. There is a post on Reddit in the FountainPen subreddit about PR production being halted due to widespread mold contamination in their inks.

Thanks again for joining this drop! With your help we were able to make it successful for the community. We've just submitted the group's order with the vendor for the Private Reserve Bottled Ink (4-Pack) and they are working hard to prepare it for shipment.
As soon as the group's order is ready at the vendor's location, they will send the bulk shipment to our warehouse in New Jersey where our warehouse team will break it up into individual orders and ship them directly to you! The current estimated ship date from our warehouse is 8/26.
Rest assured that we we will provide you all with updated information regarding the status of your order throughout the process. You can expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 8/19.

Hey everyone -- Unfortunately, we've gotten some late notice from the vendor that Private Reserve does not want to work with the Massdrop community right now, so we've had to close this drop early. We are disappointed and apologize for the inconvenience, but we'll try to make this available in the future.

I have been quite happy with all of my PR inks (their Shoreline Gold is one of my all-time favorites), but I won't be joining this massdrop--at this price, it is not actually much of a deal. For example, GouletPens.com has them for $11.00/bottle.

cbiexeiAt the lowest price point it will be ~$8.99 USD per bottle, so that is ~$11 USD saved for four bottles vs Goulet. (Goulet's shipping is more expensive.) Anderson charges the same price as Goulet. Amazon is $9 USD to $12 USD depending on the color chosen. So, if you are buying multiple bottles it adds up.

ironhelixxYes. At the lowest price point it will be $9 a bottle, plus $1 shipping per bottle, making the over all cost $10 a bottle. Unless you actually want 4 bottles, it is still not much of a savings, especially if you order other items from Goulet. If you are only ordering 4 bottles of PR ink from Goulet and nothing else, the comparable cost from massdrop would represent savings of only $8.

DeathWatch, Private Reserve inks are somewhat similar to Noodler's in their properties, meaning they are vibrant and very highly saturated inks. Because of that, they may not be ideal for older pens or pens that are difficult to clean. There have been mixed reports of some mold/build-up in some pens, but they are the exception not the rule. As always, you run a bit of a risk using these boutique inks, but for many users, the colors can't be beat. That's just my experience, but I hope it helps! :)
