Am I missing something? This is less expensive on Amazon and comes with free shipping. Are their extras included to make this worth the extra cost?

Lurch104The extras you get are several extra weeks of waiting for your order. Massdrop is great for some things; this ain't one of em.

The prices on these Webnotebooks starts off higher than other sites and, at least for Californians, gets ridiculous when adding on tax and shipping. Over $8 shipping! In fact, I can buy four of these on Amazon prime for the price of three on this "sale".
My excitement about Massdrop has waned for months now as I repeatedly see these over-charged products and extreme shipping costs. I think the business strategy at Massdrop has done a major shift in the past year and I find myself rarely looking at the site anymore. I suspect I am not alone. Customer retention does matter, Massdrop.

Is dot grid an option?

Thanks for answering. I was planning to get a selection of all 3 types, but I'll be fine with 2 choices.

These are my favorite notebooks, perhaps the nicest ones in the world. But they are $16 each on Amazon, so there is no reason to buy them here.

This isn't cheaper than Amazon... Am I missing something?

I admittedly care way too much about notebooks, so I have done some research.
So far I've only managed to find the complete line of these A5 Rhodiarama webbies on one US website (Indy-Pen-Dance), and they charge $27. They also stock the normal webbies for $22.50.
Another website (Jenni Bick) that carries the smaller A6 size Rhodiarama webbies charges $18 for them and $16 for the normal A6 webbies, and European Paper charges $18.50 for the Rhodiarama A6 and $15.25 for the normal A6.
So it looks like these ones do typically cost more than the normal ones.
It does seem a bit silly to me that Rhodia would include black and orange in the Rhodiarama line and charge more for them when you could just get a normal webbie in black or orange for less money with more ruling options.
But anyway, if you just want awesome paper (and dot grid! I'd so love to see these in dot grid) and don't care what color the cover is, Amazon is probably your best bet. However, if, like me, you are unnaturally obsessed with notebooks that have colored covers and love Rhodia paper, then this is a good deal. :)

thexquietxlifeThanks, @thexquietxlife, for checking on this.
As you and others have said, it really depends on whether cover color matters to you. This is a good deal if the variety offered through the Rhodiarama series is important to you.
If you just want a solid Rhodia Webnotebook, better prices and/or faster shipping can be found elsewhere when compared to this drop. Also, MD periodically offers the regular Rhodia Webnotebooks (in a variety of paper styles) in a separate drop and at a price that beats most or all other online retailers (assuming the usual Massdrop caveats).
Cheers.

I don't understand what the point of Massdrop is anymore. These aren't reduced prices at all. I can buy 3 Rhodia Webnotebooks for less on Amazon with free shipping since I already have Prime so... What's the point?
hmm so a Moleskine knock off that costs more than Moleskine?

The landscape are nearly $25.00 USD on amazon if anyone is complaining about the price on this drop. I've been watching it and while the regular A5's are not a great value, the landscape ones are not a bad deal. Just a head's up to anyone interested in the orange landscape selection.

Hopefully this will be back with more dot options, Lined and blank just don't do it for me, even with all those color options.
Riku964Hi @Riku964,
Thanks for letting us know! The Rhodiarama line of Webnotebooks comes in a rainbow of cover colors, but does not include the Dot Grid paper option.
Many other members have requested the Dot Grid Webnotebooks, which have the Dot Grid paper option but is only available in black and orange.
I can work on a separate drop for those in the near future.

Be warned: once you use a good pen on premium paper, everything else will feel like nails on a chalkboard. This will BLOW AWAY moleskine for a journal. Keep in mind, these smoother premium papers will require a bit more dry time than standard paper. If you are getting one of the Pilot/Namiki Vanishing Point fountain pens and Iroshizuku ink then do yourself a favor and pick up a notebook worth using them in. This price with free shipping is the best I've seen.
