A Split Keyboard That’s Twice as Good

While two is often better than one, it’s tough to use two mechanical keyboards at once—unless you’ve got a killer split-layout keyboard like the Standard Keys TWS. This fixed-position typer’s dream takes a standard compact board and splits it in half, giving you two separate boards: one for each hand. This not only teaches you sound typing technique, it allows you to space the board out at exactly the right spacing as your hands ergonomically lie. Each acrylic case—available in black or transparent colorways—sits low-profile on your desk while the one-inch OLED display on each board lets you tap into a variety of macro data. The 2.4-gigahertz wireless dongle delivers a response time less than 3 milliseconds, and because the TWS is a true-wireless setup, there isn’t the same delay normally introduced by keyboards using the slave-device setup. The 2,000 milliamp hour battery on board provides an impressive 150 hours of typing with the screens on, which is plenty for several weeks of heavy typing. And just to keep this story of “two” going strong, the TWS also features two separate rotary knobs—one on each section—to give you scrollable control at both hands.

Question
The wireless technology isn't Bluetooth, and the software for configuring isn't QMK or other open/mainstream product. I'm wondering if there's a plan for a Bluetooth version, and why it doesn't use QMK.

It might have been difficult to use QMK for wireless built as it doesn't support it natively afaik. But they certainly could have used ZMK, which is running great on similar boards with nrf5 chips....Read More
