The key to making a good cup of coffee is time and temperature. Thanks to extensive research and testing, the folks over at Technivorm have created a device for both Read More
CraigorI agree with @Craigor. Would buy this instantly at this price if had insulated carafe. Have had one for 10+ years with insulated carafe that is due for a replacement.
Don't get me started on glass carafes and warming plates....
You don't understand how much better this coffee maker is. This is a steal. Boils water in about 10-20 seconds... Yes that fast? Use the scoop, and base your formula on one scoop per Euro sized cup. It's the ak47 of coffeemakers, will not break. I have the thermos version for 10 yrs. The water temp is laser calibrated for perfection. This is a must buy.
I'm a current owner of a 10 year old Technivorm with stainless steel thermal carafe and Im in the market for a new machine. I'd easily be apart of this drop if the stainless steel thermal carafe was offered.
Glass, however well made, tends to eventually break. Furthermore the stainless steel model is sturdier and less prone to breakage during cleaning. I also like the usefulness of having a thermal carafe as it keeps your coffee warm. This drop really needs this upgrade option to really take an already great machine over the top.
MrD1Very easy. Just rinse daily. Once a month you need to run a de-scaleing cleaning detergent through. But that's simple and takes 5 mins.
Thanks for running the request through.
Holy shit. I've never seen this so deeply discounted. I just paid $320 for mine and it's absolutely worth it (so this is really a steal). I never knew it was possible to make coffee so good.
I agree!! We've had ours for about 9 years and everyone loves our coffee!! Read about it from Cooks Illustrated testing kitchen about how superior this coffee maker was and haven't regretted the purchase once. I know I paid close to $300 for it - you're right - this is a steal.
CFDBCFDB, can you make a half pot with this model and not affect the coffee flavor?

csahlyes, the fliter basket has three settings. Closed, half open, and full open. For smaller brew volume set the the fliter basket to half open and use the required amount of coffee for the volume of water.
I don't own this particular model but bought a refurb KGBT a year ago and it's been great: no-nonsense, well-built, brews fast, as advertised the temperature is perfect, and the coffee is delicious. Great deal here for a BIFL coffee maker.
Can't decide between this and ninja coffee bar. Ninja can make cold coffee and espresso too. But the technivorm makes me look like a coffee snob. Anybody out there own both?
miketech18I have always wanted a Technivorm, but wound up getting a Ninja based on positive reviews and price (which isn't too far off from this Massdrop price). The Ninja creates an espresso-like drink by (I think) delivering the water more slowly to the grounds creating a bolder, more concentrated taste. You're supplied a pump-action milk frother that's intended to substitute the steamed milk. Honestly, it isn't bad at all.
However, this is a killer deal on a new Technivorm Moccamaster. I'm still on the fence. Anyone else have some other thoughts to add?
miketech18Only technivorm but I am certified coffee snob. I do not miss or feel a calling for espresso with the batches of coffee I can now brew. My complaint about the technivorm is the carafe is 40 ounces. My wife and I drink a this amount in our sleep.
