My sets just arrived. Stacking the cases seems to have kept the caps in the box, but didn't stop them from bouncing around. The individual cases are held together by minimal tape on the sides, and the two halves are easily separated with the tiniest amount of force. I've got at least a couple of scratched keys; I just got home and haven't done a thorough pass-through yet. I suppose it could have been worse, but this lazy shipping is pretty unacceptable.
trizkutAfter putting all my keys back in the housing, I noticed the same thing as you did.
I don't think Massdrop / USPS can take full blame for the shipping, because it seems that the housing is pretty mediocre. It doesn't take any real level of jostling very well at all.
You also mentioned scratched keys, and that was something I also didn't consider. I'll have to do a more thorough look when I get more time.
trizkutThanks for the photo, I previously decided to stop buying from Massdrop, but these GMK drops were making me re-consider, I just decided to stick with my initial decision, it seems they even find a way to mess GMK's too (it seems they are cursed or something, anything that can go wrong goes wrong)
I was also wondering whether a 1.5 Tab I had from another source was used before, it seems it was damaged similar to the "Alt" you posted
On the bright side, since ABS melts/shines over time, these wounds might heal with usage
trizkutdang you got lucky compared to what i received. half my keycaps werent even in the tray! 1 of the 2 pieces of tape wasn't pressed down and nearly all the caps were freely floating in the box.
trizkutMy box and trays looked much worse than that. If you had a few damaged keys I'm in trouble and will have to check all of my keys. First glance they were OK but I woulder if I have all of them.
