Ergonomic, durable, and lightweight, the Talon from TuyaKnife is one knife that would make any bird of prey proud. Its satin-finished blade is made from SV35N stainless steel: one of the most versatile steels on the market today Read More
I don't generally like re-curve blades, but this one was appealing because of its design. The Talon is slim, light (3.3 oz. on my scale) and the detent is just right given the blade length. Closing is drop-shut perfect - assuming you keep your fingers off the lock bar. The blade is pointy, but the flat extends to the last 0.75" leaving enough thickness to keep it from being too fragile. There handle is so thin and the height so minimal (less than an inch) that I have to keep my pinkie from wrapping over the top of the closed blade - not a problem if you're conscious of it and adjust your grip. And this design uses every bit of available handle for the blade without leaving an exposed tip. All this may not appeal to some people, but I think Tuyaknife did a great job with this one. Hope Drop will consider more of their offerings. This one is the titanium gray with blue clip and back spacer, #26/100 of the first run. My only nitpick is the blade bannering.
I love this knife, it's unique, slim and light and actually quite a long blade for the weight. It is a little thin and so I have to hold it in a way as to not push in on the frame lock portion when I open it. I also can't mindlessly play with this knife as it's very sharp and not very forgiving. It bit me once upon closing as I wasn't paying much attention and was a difficult cut to keep closed as it was on my thumb knuckle. Overall I'm very pleased and love my first titanium frame lock knife.
It came in a cute little box. Has a smooth opening mechanism. Comes nice and sharp.
Only thing to watch out for it trying to close it one handed. Already bit me once due to how close the cutting edge is to the frame lock. 2-handed granny closing the safest way to go.
First impression: the fit and finish seem top notch. slim blade shape is exquisite,
First Tuya knife I've ever owned and am quite impressed. The action is fine, and the blade shape is pretty cool, if you can deal with a little bit of recurve.
