Grilling in the great outdoors just got easier. From Vargo, a company that specializes in titanium accessories, this titanium grill features a bifold system that packs down small and opens up big Read More
When I took this out of the pouch, I couldn't believe how small it is (yes, I read the specs, but still, it's surprising). But in use, it's fine. I cooked two steaks on it over campfire coals last weekend and it had plenty of room (could even have fit another). You need to be careful when scraping coals under it, since it's easy to upend and is even at risk of folding if you have only one side loaded. I solved this by wrapping a little baling wire to connect the legs on each side. Make your connection about half an inch, and it'll be tight enough to keep the legs from doing a split, but long enough that you can still fold it over. Also, I thought the pouch was overkill (it weighs nearly as much as the stove itself) until I realized I had to store a meat-funked grill in my pack. Plus the grill has some sharp edges that would shred a simple fabric pouch, so the reinforced one is actually pretty useful.
I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet but here are some things I plan on using it for. Let me start with the obvious , weight savings. Next is how fast titanium cools to the touch. Then as a grill since that is the intended use. As a pot support when using a pot or kettle to cook with and a small cooing fire or hot coals. 2md cooking option using a small alcohol stove ( in place of a fire ) as a 2nd heat source for a quick hot beverage. As a table when in camp or even when taking a break on the trail. If used as a grill and later as a table some river sand and water normally cleans a grill really nice. I go ultralight so I like my items to be multi functionable when possable and this fills the bill on that.
Unlike other reviewers, I don't plan on using this on long backpacking trips. As other have mentioned, it is quick small, so its utility is limited. Most of the time, I'm just heating water to heat up pouches anyway. But, if I'm not out for long, and I can take some extra weight, it comes in handy to change things up a bit.
*Perfect size for my needs (cooking for 1-2)
* Insanely lightweight
* Extremely well built
* Quality pouch
I’m new to grilling on the trail and have recently swapped my gas stove and now cook only on campfire coals.
This little grill is the perfect stand for cooking aluminum foil packs, holding a pot/pan or toasting bread. Looking forward to many more great trips with it!

Big nod to Vargo as I now have their flask & grill and find both to be Thoughtfully designed and exceptionally manufactured. 👍🏻
I was glad to have this along on a recent car camping trip. Forgot to pack the grill part of my charcoal grill, but had this and a Vargo Ti Firebox packed away, which worked great for a small charcoal fire. I use an alcohol stove in the wilderness and enjoy collecting and using backpacking and camping stoves. I am glad to have this stove among the options. Melting point of Ti is much higher than Al btw.
The product is ok, but it arrived bent and overall it is extremely flimsy. I don't think it will last very long as the hinges over-extend, which also means it does not stand properly.

The quality of the package alone (it's carry bag rather) makes the price satisfactory, this is the perfect item to add to any camping pack or short travel pack.
