I'll also add that even though this is the same retail price elsewhere. The international buyers like myself like this deal. Massdrop only charges $4 for international shipping where as blade hq is over $30.
I don't know why we have to have the same complaining almost every time this happens. It's simple, on custom collaborations MD can pre set the price with whomever they are partnering with. With standard manufactured drops, they are bound by the company's MAP requirements just the same as any distributor would be.
This will ALWAYS happen when MAPs are a requirement.
halflife78Minimum advertised pricing (MAP) is the lowest price a retailer can advertise the product for sale. As long as you don’t advertise below MAP, you can sell a knife for whatever price you want. I guess Massdrop can’t get around it because they would be advertising below MAP. They would have to advertise at MAP, then email us all on the side with a lower price, which I am totally up for! : )
I have a lost knife shipped by MD. MD is the buyer of the shipping not me. MD refuses to inquire with UPS, who they are the customer of, to figure out where their shipment is. MD is responsible to me, the customer, to get their products to my door. However, MD seems to think differently and that I have the burden to figure out what went wrong. I am so unimpressed with their complete inexperience in anything related to customer service and lack of loyalty to their customers. Why in the world would anyone take this kind of risk and pay the same if not more than other more responsible dealers for the exact same items? Just because you order and pay for an item from MD does not guarantee you are going to get it without a lot of headaches. This type of poor service is not sustainable for a viable business, don't be surprised that MD is no longer at some point. I just received an email from an accountant at MD and they are refunding my money which is good. However, I had to go through heck to get that to happen with a lot of refusal emails from them and that should not be necessary. Other dealers would have checked with UPS immediately or sent a new item or given me my money back weeks ago.
Was excited to see the email that massdrop had this knife, complete let down to see there is no discount and same price as everywhere else online. Factor in the ridiculous time it takes massdrop to deliver and like others have stated, what’s the point? Miss the days when you could get knives from here at a real discount.
I don't get it. Why is Massdrop selling knives at the exact same price as the knife stores. Massdrop is supposed to be a group buying website at a discounted rate.
literally the same price as Blade HQ. If you get it here though you get worse shipping options and worse customer support and warranty options! WHY Massdrop What are you even doing?
