So in what world does 1 liter equal 5.5 cups? Zojirushi has always perplexed me with they weird measurements on these cookers.

Ah, thanks for this. I lost my Zojirushi cup a while ago, but before I had I measured it and find that it was the equivalent of 3/4 cup American. Now I know why.

Dare I ask if there's a 220V option?

Shipping it to a 220/230V country without offering a 220/230V option isn't very helpful.

+1 to JBBB There are a fair few of us who live in a country with 220/240v power. C'mon Massdrop, any chance you could have a rice cooker drop offering this as an option? I'm pretty sure it would have lots of support.

MelliferaYou're correct. A much larger rice consumption population exist in the 220/240v region than 110v.

I've had the larger version of this rice cooker (NS-ZCC18) since 2013. It has made 2 to 3 pots of perfect rice every week since I got it. We've made white rice, brown rice, and the very rare pot of oatmeal and it just works every time. I set the timer to start the rice before I get home so it's done when I arrive home with little mouths that need to be fed. All replacement parts appear to be readily available from the Zojirushi website. I've only ordered once when my kids broke a clip that holds the spatula and all the parts seemed to be in stock. There are only two caveats I have to offer: 1) You must like asian style rice. That's what this thing does best! It takes some practice to get good long grain rice (cajun/southern/Indian styles). 2) It will ruin you for eating cheap Chinese food in restaurants. You'll find yourself saying things like, "I make better rice than this at home" and "Oh, this rice isn't very fresh." If you eat the hell out of some rice you will love this thing. Update: It's been two years since I wrote this. My rice cooker is still going strong. Replacement parts are still available from the Zojirushi website. I couldn't be happier with this thing.

I have one of these (slightly earlier model) and I loooooove it. So cute. So effective. At this price if you are in for a rice cooker it's a no brainer.

We had bought one of these a while back and it's a Godsend, put the rice in and forget about it until it chimes. Perfect rice every single time. Would highly recommend if you eat a lot of rice.

Once you get up into this price range, honestly I would not spend money on Zojirushi, the brand has not changed much or evolved much in the past 20 years or so. Cuckoo is top of the line. If you have deeper pockets than 150 for a rice cooker, my wife and I use this one: https://www.amazon.com/Cuckoo-CRP-HV0667F-Pressure-Cooker-Uncooked/dp/B00WTJNWWS Which is very pricey but sometimes goes on sale. Induction pressure cooked rice is super freaking fast and it's one of the best major appliance investments we've made.

aberusugiZo has similar cookers, but they're a lot less prominent in the US than the Cuckoo ones. E.g., https://www.zojirushi.com/app/product/npnvc
