What's the rate of charge rating on these cables? Under 2.0A or 2.1A or 2.4A, and also is it an exclusive charge only or does it do USB data sync also?
An update for the group, we have been made aware of a problem related to the tracking provided for each individual order.
It looks like the tracking information was incorrectly associated for an unknown number of our members. The vendor is currently working hard to provide us with the correct tracking information for each order and we expect to hear from them early Monday morning with the updated information.
In an effort to avoid confusion we will be removing the current tracking information associated with each order later today and will make sure to keep the group updated as soon as we receive more information.
We appreciate your patience and will make sure to update the group on 12/5 or sooner if something comes up
Since the USB-A end of the cable has a right-angle plug, it matters which side of the plug has the plastic tongue. If we use the image below as a guide, are the cables in this drop configured like the upper example or the lower example?
Were they not all supposed to have 90 degree angle USB sides? That's what I thought I had ordered, but I got straight instead. I don't mind that much. Just frustrating to wait longer than expected, just to get a different product.
Hey @christwin & @jtyrx - Sorry for the delay. Correct that this looks like a straight cable. Unfortunately, we don't know how many members have been affected yet, but please submit your ticket via the My Transactions page if you are unsatisfied with the receiving the straight cable. Thank you, and sorry for any inconvenience!
Never got a tracking number or shipment notification, but did receive my cables today. Only problem is 2 of the 3 I ordered are incorrect items. The cables that were shown on the order page had the USB-A end with a 90 degree angle on all of the options. The 2 USB micro cables in my order both have straight end connectors, not 90 degree ends, the USB-C is the only one with the correct end. Anyone else have this problem.
MuKraftSame issue, but I thought incorrectly that the 90 degree end was going to be on the micro side. If I had known it was supposed to be the USB side I wouldn't have joined. Oh well, they do seem like good cables, hopefully they last.
MuKraftSame here, USB to lightning cable and both ends are straight with no 90 degree end. Nice cable but one of the main reasons I joined this drop was the 90 degree end.
I really hope these last longer than apple ones!!! they look physically similar width to apple/Belkin ones ... wish they just doubled the thickness and made it virtually indestructible. I'd pay for that!!!
What's the USB spec on these, specifically the USB-A to USB-C cable? I'd like to order these to use as the interconnect between the two halves of my ErgoDox Infinity, but only USB 3 cables serve the purpose.
Disaster! First time I used this cable I started smelling something burning, now the cables type C end is all scorched and my phone wont charge or connect to a computer with any cable. This was with the same 2.4 amp charger I always use to charge my nexus 5x.
chardoYeah, so I was thinking about buying it, but then I remembered Benson Leung over at Google has been testing USB-C cables for compatibility with the spec.
Well I got a tracking number for my cable, turns out its going to another state and not to me, I have opened a ticket with massdrop but was curious if this happened to anyone else
