A Chinese K712 is exactly what I was hoping for. Basically, same sound, but with lower production cost, hence why it's a Massdrop special etc. I want them for mixing my own songs though, which is what the K712 is designed for. The K702 Annie may be just as good in this regard, but I felt safer with the K712. Now I think these will be somewhere in between. This seems like a real steal!
KaneDWilliamsThanks Kane.
Would you think I will be able to drive them with a Sound Blaster Z? I want to use it for night gaming/audio/movies without bumping the volume up to super high levels, but enough to be able to hear everything clearly.
I am using onboard sound right now, however my motherboard claims it can drive high quality headphones by using a separate power source off the PSU.
"The built-in dual headphone amplifier rewards your high quality headphone with the most amazing studio level sound quality up to 600Ω delivered from your gaming PC."

Not sure if it's just marketing garbage though :)
Cheers.
cmazziaA lot of people like the Schiit Vali or the O2 or the Little Dot Mk I with these.
Personally, I'd recommend jumping into a higher price point to really make them shine. The Audio-GD NFB-15 is my choice for best bang for the buck in the DAC/Amp category. The Matrix M-Stage is also a really good amp but the DAC is nothing special.
