It's a funny thing, but from what I understand, if you made a sword out of AUS-8 and took it back in time to the middle ages or antiquity -- a period of time when steel was still made by blacksmiths in small batches by hand -- it would end up being so much better than what they were able to forge by hand that people would think you had a magic sword.
