Product Description
Hailed for its slim profile, ease of carry, and utility, the Boker Plus Urban Trapper is one of the most popular knives in the EDC community. This Gentleman version is even cleaner than the original, featuring cocobolo wood scales and a soft, gently curved drop-point blade made from VG-10: a high-carbon content stainless steel manufactured in Japan Read More

One of my favorite suit knives. Here you can see the size difference between the Gentleman being sold and the regular size trapper (in blue/black). Both are excellent.

Here's the one @gunnersmate2 mentioned. I skipped this drop bc I'm not a fan of short knives. https://www.massdrop.com/buy/boker-plus-fr-massdrop-exclusive

I too have this knife and EDC it a lot. Taking up so little pocket width its easy to forget its even there , especially after I rounded off some of the corners/edges of the liners. It was fine the way it was, but I like it even more in its lightly-modified state. I am not sure if you can tell from the pics, but I took it apart, softened all the edges and corners of the liners and gave all the outward-facing surfaces a satin-level polish. (clip too) The cocobolo scales already felt great to the touch but to me the polished liners improved the in-hand feel and the edge-of-hand interface when reaching for wallet etc.

Thx! I certainly haven't done all of my knives, but I too have modified several of mine and serviced most of them. Like you, making my gear truly mine through mods and optimization is important to me.

Speaking of anodizing... and making it mine... I recently took a crack at matching it to one of my watches. It's probably hard to notice here, but only the outside of the liners are bronze. The inward faces of the liners are the same blue as the clip.

The odd thing is that there is no mention to the fact that this knife has a titanium frame and pocket clip. It is a great knife.

I have this knife and I can garantee you these parts are non magnetic (titanium is non magnetic). Moreover that is the description you will find in several retailers' sites (like this one: https://www.bladehq.com/item--Boker-Plus-Urban-Trapper-Knife--28800 ) and in the manufacturer's site.

Is this any different than the cocobolo version you can get for $70 elsewhere?
I love the Lil native, but I'd imagine the boker would be easier to reach around in the pocket. It does have a flipper, but lacks the spidie hole and isn't nearly as tall (wide?) As the native because of blade shape(height). Same to a lesser extent with the Santa Fe. The splinter I'm not very familiar with, but seems similar in size/shape to the medium sized trapper so probably about the same in pocket.
As for being non-threatening, this is probably as friendly looking as a blade of this length can be, but you might want to look at the standard or petite if you carry around the easily startled. Anecdotally it seems Spyderco's unorthodox blade shapes make non knife people more uncomfortable than more traditional looking blades. Ymmv

It's very slim. I daily carry it for work as well as in my non work clothes. I wear what I suppose you would consider skinny jeans and have no issue getting my keys out of my pocket.

This price is no better (actually slightly more) than I can buy it from other sources. Why use Drop?

MapennYou use Drop so you can wait weeks or months for delivery. Then you forget you even ordered something and when it finally arrives it’s a surprise.

Same knife on Amazon with free shipping for $63.63.
Great knife. Personally I like the G-10 version in the full size best. Gifted numerous ones for Christmas and they are getting daily use and working great per the recipients!

Trophy_HusbandNope, that's the 3.5 inch version. Smaller and heavier than the gentleman version offered here.

YerMomI hate to be like this but Chinese VG10 at that. Boker falls back on the quality of their German production, the Plus series is hit or miss at best .

I'm confused by the options listed when you're trying to purchase... someone explain that to me.

My guess is that it's for MSRP advertising, they used to do it with Spyderco where they could only advertise a certain price and then discount at checkout. Not certain though.
ecolemanYou are correct.

RequiesceI paid just shy if $70 shipped in a previous drop. $95 is full blown retail. I dont care for the knife personally. Its nice but too light duty for me. More of a sunday or wearing a suit piece. I will probably sell mine
