This is a fantastic knife. It's very lightweight, while still offering a long blade. It came very sharp and flicks very nicely. The wood handle is beautiful. Very well made knife.

Great edition of the trapper series, has instantly become my go to steak knife for home and outings with the wife. Light, slim and the perfect length for a great steak knife and unlike the rest of the trapper range it does not look overly aggressive and fits right in on the dinner table.

Mine wasn't in great shape out of the box: the D-shaped pivot wasn't seated and tightened correctly and there was NO lube of any kind anywhere. The blade was flopping to one side, due to the loose pivot.
Somebody's fingerprint was inside the knife on the pivot area of the blade, where they must've held it down trying to get the pivot in. I disassembled, cleaned, lubed, and adjusted it (a bit of a challenge to get the long blade centered, but it was possible to shift the scales slightly and get it perfect). Now it's as smooth as my other Urban Trappers. Lock-up is about 10-15% but that's fine for this knife, it's for very light-duty tasks anyway.
It has some very tiny captive ball bearings, and a little bit of a detent ramp which was a pleasant surprise. Overall a nice addition to my collection!

The looks and weight are great, really fits the bill as an attractive easy to carry gentleman’s knife. But... really surprising how very flimsy it is. There’s more play in the lockup than should be at the price point. The timing of the liner lock is exceptionally weak. The flipper is teeny and deployment is slow and not positive at all because of the terrible timing, yet the blade basically falls out on its ownwhen closed. Even the least bit of pressure in your grip feels like you’re crushing the frame. The blade itself is excellent, perfect polish and you can get VG-10 like a razor, arguably the best steel you could expect at this price point. But really, you couldn’t actually use this for more than a letter opener. Basically a fashion accessory for business and formal wear. So maybe that’s fair for what they market it as? Still just be aware it’s super flimsy compared to competitive options.

Overall the knife design is wonderful. It's slim and the contour, blade to handle, is beautiful. The wood scales class it up nicely. The knife is light for carrying in the pocket. It's pretty long so it doesn't carry perfectly in all of my pants, i.e. shallow front pockets. My knife has a few imperfections to take a star off. 1) The blade alignment when folded is not centered. It's not so bad it's touching the frame, but it's disappointing nonetheless. 2) The frame lock angle isn't cut exactly right. The blade doesn't fully touch the frame lock. Rather it is biased to the bottom. 3) The flipper dingus is quite sharp.

great knife, pivot is a drag
I love the design of this knife. plenty of edge in a slim package, looks great. But I agree this is a flimsy execution. For me, the pivot keeps coming loose, making the tip rub the frame when opened. I've tightened it a few times, not too far, so it can still flip, but it always winds up coming loose. Anyone figure out a solution?

Flimsy - Weak - Noodle Blade
This knife is elegant, beautiful and very light. That said, it is however very flimsy. The blade will bend with the slightest tension or force. The pivot point is smooth but weak. This knife is meant as a slicer. Any force applied sideways will break either the blade first or the pivot. The handle is bendy also. This could have been prevented by adding a spacer in the middle - making it more robust and sturdy. Another thing I noticed was the pocket clip. It is swaying side to side. I reckon, it will fall if used on thick jeans or other thicker materials. This knife is purely meant to be carried whilst wearing a suit as an accessory. Otherwise, if you want a glorified butter knife, slice soft fruits and cheese. This knife is for you. Won't recommend. On suit occasions, you can carry sturdier knives that also look elegant. This one will stay on the desk and open envelopes.

Not up to previous Boker standards - Functional but not much else.
I have a Boker Kwaiken as my everyday carry. Thought another Boker would be a great complement to it, so I ordered this. I like the blade profile, with the deeper belly. The blade itself is nice. But the overall feel is far inferior to the Kwaiken. It is very light, so perhaps that is a plus for some? The finish and material choice are substandard at this price point. The action is 'gritty', the handle/lockout metal is thin, and the wood scales seem poor quality. I think I will throw this in the car or a tool kit, but I doubt I'll carry it much, and I definitely won't be showing it off.

Picked this up during a previous drop. Was my office EDC for 3 months: super light, super thin, with the deep-carry pocket it practically disappears in the pocket. I bought it knowing it was light-duty, but I didn't realize HOW light - anything more than slicing fruit or opening an envelope had me going for a utility knife. I wound up getting a less "gentlemanly" deep-carry for EDC, but the Böker will still be my "fancy dress" knife for the foreseeable future.

IdonJuanTatalyaI agree 100%. So much so that I sold it about a week after I got it.
