Hi guys, Recently I've replaced the 6SN7 tube for my DV336SE, which I am using as a preamp. Initially it worked fine and all of a sudden there's an annoying buzzing noise coming from the DV. It is noticeable even when the vol is at min. Also when gently tapping the device, my loudspeakers also picked up some noise like tapping a microphone. I've tried switching to another preamp and it's dead quiet, so it must be something to do with the DV. Any idea which part went wrong? Cheers.

ipiipiIt sounds like your preamp tube has gone bad and is microphonic. I’d replace it. If the replacement hums, you can try the burn in method (remove rear power tube and allow unit to run with just the preamp tube for 24-48 hours, the LED cathode mod (recommended), or a capacitor mod (fitz).
