Heavy but great knife
Beautiful colorful G10 handle. The blade is a heavy piece of D2 and flics out smoothly and came very sharp.

Great heft, super sharp, great value.
Love this blade, super sharp and badass. Definitely not for the pocket, but clips to a belt and is great for outdoor/survival as a backup to your fixed-blade knife. Love the easy opening action; opens with minor force to the thumb nub then with a quick flip. Makes a great stocking-stuffer for the kids!

Outstanding
Excellent blade for a folder. While a tad large when carried in your pocket, this blade has a great tanto shape and holds an edge. The accompanying pouch is pretty much useless but overall I am highly satisfied with this blade as a tool or protective knife. My second one purchased here. I carry one professionally as an Executive Protection professional.

One slab of D2 I really like
Was very happy the blade flies open and snaps locked with an authoritative thunk! Not your grannies apple pealing knife it’s a beast for when you need brawn. All the while looking manly and stylish.

I really enjoy the size of the blade. The flipper could be a little stronger when it comes to opening the knife. I love the scaling, it makes the blade/knife feel beefier.

It's a good looking knife and with a sharpening I have no doubt it'll be a solid work horse. That being said it's not the knife I ordered. At least it doesn't match the image Drop provided for the model. Not a huge deal, I quite like the black washed blade, but the black and red scales are significantly more dull than the ones pictured in the drop. Overall the action is pretty good if a tad stiff and the pivot squeaks when opening and closing. Could deal with a dab of lube for sure. Otherwise lock up is solid, blade is centered, and there are no uncomfortably sharp edges on the scales or frames so milling/machining is good. All bevels match quite closely, close enough that I'll probably mess them up myself sharpening the thing. Regarding the mistake from Drop, I have contacted them through support I just mention it here to make sure others don't have to deal with the same shit. This knife is what I ordered

Solid, but not my favorite Proelia
search
The good:
  • Very solid build
  • Ruggedized
  • Reversible tip up clip
  • Comes with spare hardware
  • Well milled steel blade
  • Drop price ($45, considerably under market)
  • Despite chunky size, can easily flip open with the thumb stud
The bad:
  • I found the ridged grip a bit uncomfortable
  • The flipper tab isn't nearly as effective on the TX010 as on the otherwise extremely similar TX020, they should have either done away with it in favor of the thumb studs, or gave it more leverage
The whatever:
  • the stonewashed titanium nitride finish isn't a problem per se, but I much prefer their other finishes.
  • The red and black handle seemed a bit drab for something that's, you know, red and black. I hit it with some golden yellow dye to bring out an orange tiger stripe effect, with limited impact:

The huh?:
  • Drop's ad copy was actually considerably more accurate than the spec sheet that shipped with the knife, although both were off from my measurements. Usually it's the other way around so credit where credit's due.
If I could give it four and a half stars, I would. The thumb stud works well enough that the flipper tab isn't that big of a deal, but it still keeps it from being a five star knife. I personally prefer the TX020 to this, and if you prefer flipper knives to thumb stud flicker knives, you will too. But if you're a thumbstud person, this is your jam -- fast flip and hard lockup. This is my second Proelia and both have been very solid. I see a CF/S35VN Proelia that's out there for around a bill -- Drop should give it a go if they can get a good price like they did on this.

reswrightYours might seem drab but mine is even darker and more understated. It's a nice knife, especially for the price, but not super pleased with the looks. For one I wound up with that black stone wash despite it not matching the image of the model I bought. The flipper tab is slightly tough but if I lube the pivot it'll be more than good enough. I think the issue is mostly a fairly tight and dry pivot in the case of my knife. Overall happy with the purchase but hopefully they rectify their images, because people shouldn't be getting a knife they didn't choose.
