Having bought quite a few Denon products, I'm not too keen on their reliability. All in all I've lost around $500 on now-useless stuff from them. It works great when it works, though. Just saying
What the hell is happening to mass drop... Most of the crap on this site now isn't even things people voted on... It's crap like this. Massdrop is just makin random deals with companies for like 5$ off the original price. There are polls that have over 1000 votes that have just been sitting there for months...
Shipping for me was $58 to Indiana??? That is over 50% of the item cost. I have been looking for a Bluetooth speaker to use in the Living room. I think I will order the one on Amazon for $109 and free shipping.
I've been using this speaker for a while now and like it. Connecting is easy with NFC or Bluetooth. The Bluetooth range is excellent, further than you can hear the speaker. I was at my sister's house and we had the speaker in the living room. Her apartment is on the second floor of a 12 unit brick building. She said the audio started to break up when I went outside and was ~50 feet down the building.
I think the audio quality is pretty good. The base isn't earth shaking, but what do you expect from 3.5" drivers. It seems to sound best when placed near a wall as the base exits ports in the back. It also sounds best when not right next to you. The volume is more than I'll ever need. I'm worried about disturbing my neighbor if I go above half volume.
For me this is the perfect solution as I was looking for something to play music from my phone while working around the house and I don't have to worry about snagging headphone cords on stuff. Overall I would recommend it as it is probably the best sound you will get at the price point, not to mention that the drop was $30 lower than anywhere else I could find it.

There is a grain of truth in that it is an advantage running off AC, instead of battery. Generally, you start to see AC-powered bluetooth speakers as you reach a higher level of sonic performance. An example is here: http://www.innerfidelity.com/content/peachtree-audio-deepblue2-table-top-bluetooth-speaker. That is a $449 speaker that runs off AC only.
So, you will have to pick -- if you want better sound, probably AC only; want portability with battery, you may need to compromise on the sonic performance.
