The Massdrop ALT High-Profile is just like the original ALT, but now it comes with a tall CNC-aluminum case that covers the switches. Machined at a 6-degree angle, the case is ergonomically crafted for a natural feel Read More
I couldn't be happier with this board. It's solid, has a good weight, and a smooth finish that seems very durable so far. The hotswap is a nice feature as well. I can solder, but it's a bonus not having to. I know the stabs are garbage, but if you're buying a barebones board, who cares. Just buy better stabs.
I already have low profile ALT, but this High prof is much much much better than low. I like this heavy weight. Actually It's lighter than other expensive alu keyboard including brass weight, but it look good and competitive.
I bought a black one and I am now thinking about buying gray more. I really recommend this High profile, Don’t waste your money on Low profile.
p.s. Do not waste time to use the stock stabilizers. throw it away.
Bought this as my second keyboard (first was a full size corsair) and it's the perfect base for a custom build. I've had it for a few years now, and I've never ran into any issues. There are a small amount of RGB options built-in, just wish there was more customization with it. Very nice touch of having a usb-c port on either side. 9/10 for rgb sake lol.
As far as prebuilt boards go, the overall quality is very nice. The lighting looks really good. The only aspect definetely lacking are the stabs, which can easy be replaced with better quality ones.
This keyboard barebone is good for the price, it's heavy and also feels nice. Paying a decent price for premium quality is amazing. Down side is the stabilizers, you might have to get extra lube or swap it entirely but besides that it's good.
just like every other comment is saying the stabs are not that good, but everything else is nice. build quality is solid, heavy board, wont slide anywhere and with right switches/mods it can be a very good board.
Great starter keyboard but it really needs new stabs
The keyboard can sound a little hallow so it best to tape mod or to put foam in. It also really needs new stabilizers because it adds so much unneeded noise but it really is quality. It has RGB which is a huge plus and with those changes this is a really quality board.
Great aluminum QMK keyboard that is always in stock. I've replaced the stabs with modded Everglide Panda V3, installed lubed Glorious Panda switches and MT3 keycaps set. Very happy with the result.
Requires some dumping - no other complaints. Lately I started using USB bypass more with my ALTs/ALTHPs - definitely an advantage over my other keyboards.
Hope some day DROP will make BT version.
