has anyone figured out how to add a color mode? i'm looking for a "ripple" effect with random colors performing the ripple, when a key is pressed. is this possible? i know it is on the (hate to say this) but on the corsair k70, or a ripple effect on the coolermaster keyboards. Just wondering....

DarkMiough... that's what i was afraid of, i can edit the layouts and what not, but that type of programming scare the dickens out of me. I wouldn't mind having the color layout of the Capslock and Scrolllock when it is presed, it goes all crazy. That would be cool if that was random on every single key

umalipI've written a key randomizer at some point. It's not super hard if you're a developer, but it ain't easy for newbies either.

umalipIt would take a few days. You probably have more luck in a few weeks, there is ongoing work to port the LED matrix bit directly to QMK, which then allows for uniform programs and usage from other boards. Basically do it once and get it everywhere. Depending on how patient you are.
