Aside from the discovery of the Holy Pandas back in 2018, it’s been a while since a mechanical switch has taken the mech keys community by storm. Everglide has something to say about that Read More
Coming from more muted tactiles like Zealios, these were a huge bump in terms of tactile feel and sound. Definitely recommend if you're looking for that next upgrade but definitely can't use these on my work keyboard.
I ran these for a couple of weeks stock, then a couple of weeks lubed, filmed, and spring swapped (63.5g). Personally, these were a little too sharp, but if that is what you're looking for these are it.
I built a CTRL with these and was really quite surprised, the feel and tactility are very good, I ended up removing the switches to build a keyboard to gift to a young gamer and switched over to Holy Pandas, kinda regretting it and will probably repurchase a set of these switches at some point.
If you like a harsh feeling tactile, these are for you. Personally, I’m not a fan of them. They’re fatiguing and harsh on the fingers for even just a few minutes. My preference is linears, and out of the tactiles I do like, they’re the lighter ones. So these are a pass for me, and I wouldn’t buy them again. They do sound nice though, so they have tht going for them. Everything in this hobby is preference however, so if you like that harsh feeling then go with these or Boba U4T’s.
I’m personally more of a linear type of person that sometimes wants to try ‘something else’. What I like about these switches is that it is very different to my daily driver (Everglide Aqua Kings housing w/c NK Cream Stems), where this has a high pitch /clacky tone and sharp tactility, i.e. it’s very tactile. I type quicker (vs my linear counterpart. Went from an average of 85 wpm to 91) and preferred using it with GMK / cherry keycaps rather than MT3.
I think I might actually prefer this to Zealio’s because it felt ~ sounded(?) more ‘aggressive’ (and if I am going to go away from a linear switch, I wanted something completely different)
I wouldn’t recommend taking it to an office (due to the clack), but if you’re wfh and want to switch it up, its nice as an alternative. The only reason I am not giving it 5* is because it hasn’t completely churned me away from linear, but if there was an option of 4.5* I would give it that
