The description for some reason has a line about "clutchless design", which applies to FPR's piston fillers, which this is not. Seriously, how hard it is to actually spend 10 minutes checking up on the details of the ACTUAL product you are putting up for sale, Massdrop. You are supposed to provide information for customers. Lazy copywriters should get fired on a regular basis. Reason for my rant—too much experience with first-time hires who are so eager to show their efficiency in doing things fast that they don't stop to think for 5 minutes about what they are doing, which results in several hours of work for other people to clear up the mess. People should be taught to do things well, not fast. The prevalence of Massdrop product descriptions that have mixed-up information shows that people at Massdrop are not really interested in what they're doing.

keybersAnd yes, two of the same pen doesn't make sense. I test-added a second color and nib, and the price jumped up 2x, which shows that what I did was actually add a second two-pack.

keybersI was interested, until I read that you got 2 of the same nib, actually came to read discussion posts just for that reason. What a waste. On another note, Dryden pens are quite nice, and only run 30 on amazon, directly from the producer (appears to be anyway), mind you, that is my second FP, the first being a $12 Cross, so my opinion may be irrelevant haha.

Mine came through the door just now and I decided to return it after 5 minutes. - First of all, it arrived in a minimally padded envelope. - Also, one of them has very strong foul smell as commonly reported by the others. - One of them has an indentation/chip on the barrel and I don't think is caused by transportation because the outer "package"(if any) arrived intact. - I ordered a 1mm stub but it barely match up with one of my fine-medium (unless they put the wrong nib on it). - The so called "flex" nib they simply make the slit longer throughout from top to bottom. - One of the pocket clip is half-finished where the shape is similar to my cat's claws and I certainly don't want to use it to tear the fabrics of my shirts/bags. - The company logo stamped on the metal band of the caps are of inconsistent. Some might argue that these are meant to be inexpensive pens hence the compromised built. However, at the price point of each pen at US$20~25, there are many options out there with better quality miles ahead. So I'd recommend people to avoid this brand at all cost, to save yourself time and emotions.

Hello Kevin, Thank you for proactively and promptly reaching out to the community, much appreciated. I sent an email to MD support yesterday. Turned out they decline to issue a return ticket and offered either a PARTIAL credit ($20) or PARTIAL refund ($12) instead. Speaking from experience, usually MD would provide full refund as well as take care of the return postage if the items are defective. In this case I cannot see any difference from the past. As both of these pens are defective due to production issues, in addition to the misleading product descriptions (i.e. piston filler); I sincerely do not understand why your clients have to suffer the lost. No offence, but after the rather unpleasant as well as annoying experience with this drop, forgive me hesitating to give a second try on these pens. Thus, I would like to have them to be returned and FULLY refunded.

William_ShiuHi William, Unfortunately, any discussion of a refund will have to be between you and MD. But if you want to email me at fountainpenrevolution@gmail.com I'm happy to discuss how we can get the defects taken care of. All the best, Kevin

I really want to pick this up, but I don't want 2 of the same pen with the same nib. That doesn't even make sense. I would even rather buy a few at 30 bucks each with the extra shipping instead of doing this package deal.

Both pens have to be of the same colour and nib size? No options for different variations?

addysuhairiThis is a deal breaker for me too. I don't know many people who would want 2 of exactly the same pen.

Two cheap pens, a shoddy case, but no house in the Hamptons? Well, all I can say is you get what you pay for!

It is my understanding that half of your list is of items of different colors. E. g., you are writing about "both the Fuijin Rajin and the Shoryu-zu designs". Thus most of your comment is totally irrelevant to the situation at hand where we are supposed to be interested in two pens that are _both_ of the same color _and_ the same nib. I too buy $3 WingSungs and Jinhaos by the case, to have spares as they break. But with something that is above $25, one needs to be a special kind of similar-items hoarder to stock identical pens. Given the fact that, as has been mentioned here in the comments multiple times, FPR constantly has sales and that pen case is also sometimes available as a freebie, this drop doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I'm not saying absolutely no one will jump on this drop, but the audience would have been much wider had there been a possibility to pick two differently-colored pens with different nibs.

keybersThe question willie2849 asked was, “Who wants to buy two pens really with the same nib size!”, not who would want to buy two identical pens, and not any other aspect of the situation at hand. I was pointing out that I bought plenty of pens with identical nibs, and not just “with the same nib size.”

If I could chose a color and nib for each pen I'd consider it.

Was pretty excited until reading the comments about having to order same pen twice. Too bad.
The new acrylic colours of Jade Smoke and Jungle Green are absent. FPR often offers 20% off or even 30% off anyway, and free shipping for orders over US$75, so I'm better off just buying directly from Kevin, instead of being slugged with US$10.50 in shipping for this poorly thought-out drop.

I’d be all over this drop if the ultra flex nib was offered as an upgrade. Too bad.
