They're doing it again. Look up at the top. There are a few people trying to post their referral links, and they really need to be barred from commenting on MD.
MassDrop is such as joke now. They are legitimately just a company that sells you items at retail price and delivers them after ludicrous wait times. There is no longer any benefit for the consumer to buy into group buys through this company. You can buy this keyboard for cheaper directly from Glorious' website and get it in a few days.
Dunphy1296Probably why they changed their name to drop because they don’t offer the same benefits for group buying anymore which is unfortunate. They had a winning philosophy before but they got away from it and I pray that someone else comes along and brings us back to the old Massdrop. Not only was it cheaper but it was incredibly fun checking their site daily from awesome group buys. Now you may as well just check Amazon deals.
I just don't understand why Massdrop has to lie about the actual price to make it look a better offer. The GMMK, with all switches and keycaps selected, is NOT 129$ - it is only 109$. Still a good discount, and shipping is 10$ cheaper than getting it from GMMK directly, but as others have pointed it out, with a coupon code, one can get better discount.
princessvikky426yeah it doesn't make any sense. To me, since there was no disclaimer, if its more then two its a total scam. whether or not that unlock it for you. Good luck!
I got my board today ordered directly from Glorious. I'm comparing it to a K-Type so here are my first thoughts as I put my box pale blues in:
Feels cheaper than the K-Type by virtue of being lighter and partly plastic, but the black is a nice color that will go better with most key sets. I'm kind of liking that it's lighter too--I'm very clumsy and I often accidentally banged, nearly dropped/threw etc the K-Type although it was unaffected by this thankfully. But there is nothing like the panic of almost throwing a $200 keeb across a parking lot! It did come with a braided cable vs the K-Type's ugly rubber one.
The switches go in the GMMK MUCH more easily than the K-Type and the metal does not scratch near as easily. By the time I sold my K-Type it looked like it got in a fight with a cat, all I had to do to scratch it is bump it with a fingernail a little too hard. I scraped a nail on the GMMK to compare and not a mark was left, so I'm super happy about that. The built-in stand vs K-Type's bulky and often faulty magnetic stand bar is a boon too. I did not program the K-Type other than LEDs so I will compare the LEDs as well once I get there.
BlueCrownedI think its both an editor and firmware checker. On page 10 of the user guide it says you can set macros and customize lighting. The firmware thing was actually why I didnt install it. I had so may issues with my crappy drevo excalibur that I didnt want to take a chance until I was comfortable knowing that this one worked right.
Thanks again for joining this drop! We have submitted the group's order with the vendor for the Glorious Modular Keyboard - Gateron Brown and they are working hard to prepare it for shipment.
As soon as the group's order is ready at the vendor's location, they will send the bulk shipment to our warehouse in New Jersey where our warehouse team will break it up into individual orders and ship them. The current estimated ship date from our warehouse is 10/24.
We will keep the group updated throughout the fulfillment process. You can expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 10/6.

It seems you missed what the term actually means and that is, having a switch that can be easily changed in a second (modular) - although please provide a verified link to another full size (104-key) keyboard that has fully replaceable switches like this one?
Should be easy for you, since according to you, they are so readily available everywhere ; )
Why in the world would they make the switches modular but not the usb cable?! I want this so bad but I will never buy another keyboard unless it has a removable usb so that I can add a much moar better custom one. Seriously I want this but I just cant. Why would they do this?
smallbitYeah, I wish the next version they come out with will have the detachable USB cable, and also more RGB capabilities. It would be absolutely perfect then.
