Jack up the price from MSRP (it's $1800 in Japan) and return $200 as Drop points? Not much of a deal tbh, not to mention it's available on Amazon JP for <$1700 AND you aren't locked into Drop points. No thanks.

Username_is_already_takenYou can't warranty a Japan unit with US JVC, so repairs on the ones purchased from Amazon Japan would be expensive and require one of those mailbox services to get a Japanese address. MSRP in US is $2,000.

ttft2012JVC warranties these and their other offerings here. The general problem items are collaborations, where Drop warranties and not the manufacturer.
