Darn, I emailed Drop a few weeks ago asking if they might get these any time soon. I received a non-committal we don't know what we're going to have in the future email. I ordered an open box pair from Crutchfield at that point. Drop brought us the other Japan exclusive JVC models so I hoped they would do the same here. To everyone saying Amazon Japan, sure but then you have to do warranty requests through a Japan address so probably not the greatest idea. As mentioned above you have slim choices if you want a US warranty. Anyone who likes the JVC woodie line, these are excellent. However the $600 price tag on the HA-FW1800 is probably easier to swallow for most, and they use the same driver. Last, yes these are not discounted but there is $200 in free drop points so take that into account.

BeijingBidenIt is a $200 discount in the end if you do any frequent shopping here. Take that money and add free Linsoul cables for your fancy new IEMs. I'd like the $200 off the purchase price sure, but this works well enough if this is a product you were going to buy elsewhere anyways.

BeijingBidenLmao these iems are the epitome of overpriced junk. Probably sound 99.8% as good as their predecessors.

League544Interesting perspective. You say they are “the epitome of overpriced junk” and “sound 99.8% as good as their predecessors.” Your use of the word “Probably” between those two phrases tells me you may not have heard them before... Have you? Just wondering. I don’t own these and probably won’t at $2K, but just wondering how you arrived at your conclusions.

jsmiller58Because of the driver configuration. For me, if you’re going to charge $2000 then you better be freaking using the latest and the most, the greatest and the biggest/best of every driver, period. How does this sound “ let’s put one driver in a wooden shell make it look really pretty/gorgeous, then add some really thin diaphragm that cost them 20 bucks to make and then charge two grand for it because why not? Sony is doing it in the z1r why not JVC.

League544Yeah, the tech is often an indicator, to be sure. Sometimes, though, simpler tech really does deliver. Some pretty amazing Dynamic Driver IEMs out there that outclass some tribrid offerings.

jsmiller58Yeah that’s a really great point and I think I should try some single dynamic driver headphones on a larger scale than I currently have to make a final estimation. I don’t think you should be pricing headphones based on the sound quality, the quality that you put out, I know that sounds counterintuitive but for example, just because a smart phone is the most useful tool ever created, doesn’t mean that all of a sudden they should be charging 5-15 grand for a smart phone, even though that would be its actual value if you think about how much it does. They could make an argument that amount of research and testing and other things were much more costly than the actual parts/sum, but tbh I feel like these boutique $2000/ $3000 charging companies are honestly just making money hand-over-fist and many of them have been exposed for this, so maybe that’s why I’m leaning more into thinking that they are just full of crap/overpricing. Yeah let’s go with that, 50 on red lol.
