Didn’t have any scratches on my black case. Was easily modified to fit two 3000mah batteries and my Anne Pro 2. Had to grind off the center stud to fit both batteries. Note: the Anne Pro 2 only uses the two upper support/attachment positions (one on each side). This means the keyboard can flex up if you try to lift it by the lower keys. Not an issue for me as my Anne Pro 2 fits snugly, looks great, and the weight is impressive.
You could bludgeon someone with this keyboard!
I ordered the dark blue. It's my first solid aluminum case and it's way heavier than I expected, very nice color. It came on time and I can't say I have a single complaint so I give it 5. I haven't assembled the keyboard yet so if there are issues in assembly I'll come back and revise if possible.
I have two of these cases: one in black that I got via Massdrop and one in purple that I got direct from KBDFans. I think these are quite high quality cases, and I didn't have any issues with poor anodization or blemishes. They are nice and heavy and feel good to type on. However, it does seem like the colors of the cases are not very consistent across batches, or at least it is difficult to tell sometimes which color is which, so I am deducting one star. When I ordered the purple case, I thought I was getting something closer to the first photo posted in one of the other reviews here -- more of a deep purple. However, it turned out to be a lighter purple with a little bit of red to it. The black is just black though.
Anyway, here are my boards using these cases. The first uses DSA Hana and was a gift for my Mom. (I originally wanted to use the purple case for another project, but the color was not a match so I came up with this instead.)

The second uses Maxkey SA White on Black and a "star skull" novelty that I got here on Massdrop.
MightyJabbathat pcb drop just went up, and im thinking about joining. i got a few more questions for u. is there any issue with the usb-c slot being to narrow? do u know if this will also work with the DZ60RGB hot swap version? and do u think the purple will match gmk taro? thanks. great builds btw!
Build notes and TL;DR at the end.
First thing you notice with this case is the weight. For a 60% case this thing is a hefty boy. Compared to the kbdfans low profile case, this one feels far more substantial. My case did not have any imperfections that I noticed. I didn't scrutinize the inside as I covered it in neoprene, but all visible edges are clean. The usb cable spot is nicely recessed also adding to a premium look and feel to the case. For $60 or less this is a great value!
The dark blue color to me looks really good, but is a little difficult to find a good matching set of caps. At the time of writing and photos, I see the horrid clash of this case and my desk mat. Please try to ignore the mat, I promise a more subdued one is on the way.
Typing angle is pretty low, but I appreciate that. It feels very natural to me with my wrist rest. The angles on the edges also give the case more character than the typical rectangles you often get in budget cases. Even without the wrist rest, resting your hands/wrists on the edge of the case will not feel sharp.
Obviously if you love/want/need RGB lighting, avoid this case. The deep case and solid construction means your lights won't shine here. With solid caps and a standard white LED for the caps lock, it can be difficult to notice if it is activated. As with any solid metal or wood case, just turn off the RGB under glow if your PCB has it. The RGB LEDs can get hot and leave burn marks on the case, or worse damage the PCB.
Installing the PCB was very simple. All required screws included, no fitment issues, holes were right where they needed to be. Little rubber bump on feet fit perfectly into the little circles on the underside as well. With the weight of this case it will not move under normal use.
Current build in this case is as follows.
PCB: DZ60v3 solder version
Plate: Aluminum
Switches: Gateron Yellow lubed and filmed
Key caps: Ali Express PBT metropolis
Case mods: Amazon neoprene roll 1/8 inch cut to fit, extra layer in battery cutout
TL;DR
If you need a 60% case look no further. It's heavy, looks good, and won't break the bank.
Terrible quality control, I almost thought these were B stocks... Also, the dark blue color looks nothing like what is being shown on the product page. This is completely unacceptable!
I purchased the dark blue case and the case I received is a bright/royal blue looking color. Not happy with this.
KBDFans shows that the color I received is "Blue" and not the "Dark Blue"
Get it together Drop.
Massdrop has a bunch of idiots who work for the company and they can't even correct their own mistakes of not following through. I ordered a Dark Blue case but received the wrong color case that has more of a blue-purple and is not even shown in the pictures of this drop. Then their customer rep says that I'm color blind and the case is the color that I ordered.
I know I’m not color blind. Attached are the colors pulled from KBDFans. The CS rep can’t read and can’t tell the colors apart. I requested a resolution, but the rep ignored me completely saying the ticket is resolved. I want to return this and now waiting for a different CS rep that can actually process this instead of telling me that I am color blind.
Don't bother buying any of these KBDFans items from Massdrop. Go directly to KBDFans.cn instead and purchase from the source, support them. Their support has not let me down.
Was a near perfect fit, except for the plate. Had to get the fiber plate to get the GK64X to fit.
Case is pretty damn heavy and really high quality. Love my case!
Item arrived in perfect condition, anno was stunning, contained all accessories. Styling is very personal, but I love it.
